Once again everyone was crowded around the hospital room, lounged across leather sofas dotted around the room. It felt like Déjà vu as only 2 years back they had been here before but for Amy not Jay, now it was the other way around. Kate was lying across the expanse of the sofa with her head on Nathan’s lap. Nathan was playing around with her long curly hair, staring deeply into her eyes, laughing as she shied away, embarrassed, covering her face with her hands. On the next sofa was sat Milly and Tom, Milly had her head placed affectionately on his shoulder while Tom had his arm placed around hers holding her close. Sat on the floor around a small wooden coffee table were Max and Siva who were playing with a pack of cards they had discovered last time they had been here. Finally there was Amy and Jay, Amy was lay next to a recovering Jay who had many stitches in various places across his face. Many tubes and needles were attached to him, providing him with the amount of oxygen he needed. While you could hear the regular beat from the machine measuring his heart rate, reassuring Amy that he was in a stable condition and was slowly getting stronger and stronger. Jay was still hung up on apologising to Amy about what happened the night before despite the amount of times Amy had said “its fine”.

“I will make it up to you I promise, but I don’t blame you if you leave me…I acted stupid. Why did I do that? I hate myself so much!” Jay said placing his head in his hands, ashamed at himself. “How could I ruin something so quickly? It just goes to show how one false move can easily ruin everything” he thought, torturing himself.

Amy removed his hands from his face with her gentle hands so she could look straight into his glistening sea blue eyes. “Jay?” she enquired with a grin on her face.

“Yeah?” He replied, a confused expression plastered across his face. “Why is she smiling?” he thought, this wasn’t something he found funny at all.

“Why are you torturing yourself, when there is nothing to torture yourself about? I completely understand why you did what you did. Yeah I was surprised to begin with I am not going to lie but if I am completely honest you I loved you loads before but now I love you even more. Do you know why?” Jay shook his head the confused expression still showing. “Because it just goes to show you will go through pain and discomfort just to protect me. That is more than a girl can ask for Jay, seriously! You didn’t have to do this but you did. Also he kind of deserved it if I’m honest” By now Jay was beginning to calm down, any confusion was long gone. He then leant in for a kiss, the sparks flying between them were stronger than ever. Unfortunately this beautiful moment was cut short when Amy’s phone began to ring. It was an unknown number. This sudden sound caused everyone to look up from what they were doing and watch as Amy answered the phone. A shiver of fright ripped through her as she said hello. Everyone watched, eyes transfixed to her as they waited impatiently for her to finish the conversation that had caused a worried expression to dominate her face the whole time.

After what felt like hours Amy finally put her phone back into her jeans pocket. As she looked up she noticed that every eye in the room was staring at her. She began to laugh before saying, “You’d think I had done something really terrible by the way you are all looking at me with the same look of worry” Within seconds everyone was laughing until Amy finally explained what the call was actually about. “Jay? You and I have got to attend George’s court case a week today as the witnesses of what happened yesterday…”

“Oh just great…I finally thought we were rid of him and he has to come a ruin everything and now we have to go and watch his future be determined…just great!” Jay exclaimed in an exasperated tone.

“Don’t worry, it will be over soon. Hopefully he will be in jail and we can finally get on with our lives with no more interruptions from him” She replied calmly placing her head on his chest and snuggling up closely to him. She couldn’t wait to just be able to lie there with him without any worries lingering in her mind. All she could do was try and keep a positive mind and hope for the best.

And then the dreaded day came…
