He knew it. All this time, left her hurt and vulnerable and he could have prevented it. At the end of the day what are friends for.
Jay placed his hand gently on the hand that she still had placed tightly across her mouth. So tightly that her fingernails, that were bitten from being so frightened for such a long time, were beginning to pierced the top layer of skin and her fingers were beginning to tremble. He slowly pulled her hand from her face and placed it between his attempting to calm the trembling before saying, “He won’t know, I would never blurt out anything if it mean protecting you”
He was right. She had always put her trust in Jay, she trusted him with her life and this situation shouldn’t change anything. Unless George was in the room right now, and for all she knew he wasn’t, then she was safe to tell Jay anything. This thought caused a smile to spread across her face, a beautiful smile that Jay had missed in so long. He couldn’t remember the last time he had seen this smile, or had he seen it before? Jay pulled her in for a strong hug that made Amy, for the first time in a long time, feel completely safe. Was it possible to remain in Jay’s arms forever?
Eventually Jay finally plucked up the courage to ask, “So can you tell me what has happened?” still with his head buried up to her shoulder. He heard Amy take a deep breath and suddenly he felt his body envelope in Goosebumps as he prepared himself for the whole story. Amy then pulled out of the embrace and began to tell him everything from the very beginning, even the smallest of details. He deserved to know all of the truth even if it wasn’t worth mentioning. While she was explaining she couldn’t help but think about how much she missed this, talking to Jay for hours on end about themselves and a having a laugh together. Even though this wasn’t the brightest of topics to talk about she was still talking to him and that is all that she cared about. George had prevented this for a long time. But she felt stupid for not telling Jay earlier because she completely, one hundred percentage trusted Jay that he wouldn’t spill the truth.
After about an hour of constant storytelling with Jay’s attention and eyes transfixed on her the whole time, Amy felt like a heavy load had been lifted off her shoulders and exhaled a huge sigh of relief. She then unexpectedly began to chuckle with a large grin pinned to her face. “Feel better now?” replied Jay, mimicking her smile in return. Then suddenly right in that moment something amazing happened…
