My Brothers Date

When I returned to the dormitory with my heart filled with dread, but what met my eyes was a very distressed looking Draco. He gave me a mean look. 'Where have you been?' he demanded.

'Booking myself a date for that dance thing,' I said casually, acting like I didn't care about it. He groaned. 'You will never believe this,' he said in a husky whisper. 'I am going with a Gryffindor.'

'Same,' I said, 'all the rest were taken.'

'Who you going with?' I asked him. 'Lorissa Black,' he moaned. I elbowed him lightly to cheer him up. 'Shes not that bad looking,' I reminded him. 'You could have got worse.'

I thought for a minute. 'Wait-Black...Sirius' daughter?' I asked without thinking.

'Yes, why?'

'Oh, mum told me about Sirius, apparently they were friends,' I responded.

'What about you? Who'd you get?' Draco asked.

'Hermione Granger,' I said, tactfully groaning too. Draco looked sympathetic. 'Thats the best you could get?' he scoffed. 'Hey she isn't that bad!' I argued. Draco rolled his eyes and stood up, yawning and stretching. 'Harry, you fall in love with every girl you meet.'

I gasped, offended. 'I do not!' I protested. We bickered up the stairs and climbed into bed. 'You do so, Harry,' he muttered. Next second, his snores filled the room.

I lay awake, staring up at the ceiling. I felt great. I had Hermione-the hottest girl in the school-as my dance partner and Draco barely cared.

This summer dance was going to be a lot more fun than I expected after all...
