Alissa's POV

"Is she gonna be okay?" Calum innocently asked me as we walked up a couple of steps to the front door.

"As long as Luke is there, she'll be fine." I opened the door and let him in first.

"Where have you been?" my mom asked me as she cleared off the table. Then she turned around.

"Who is that?" She's so full of questions.

"Mom this is Calum. I told you that I was going on a date tonight. Well, this is my date." Calum raised his hand a little and waved.

"Oh, okay. Hi I'm Alissa's mom, Kathryn." She said with a fake smile plastered on her face.

"Okay, so do you mind if we go downstairs and listen to some music?" I said as a gently pulled his hand behind me to go to the basement.

"Sure. Just don't do anything you wouldn't do if I was sitting right next to you." She turned back around to the table.

I laughed quietly to her response.

"Don't worry, I barely know him."

I walked ahead of Calum down the stairs to the roomy basement. It was almost empty except for a TV with an L-shaped couch in front of it.

"I'm gonna go change, you can pick something to listen to." I plugged in my phone to my iHome and handed it to him. I ran back upstairs then up the other flight to my room. I quickly changed into a pair of black pajama shorts and my black Ramones tank top and ran back down. SO MANY STAIRS.

"I hope that boy really likes you. That outfit is anything but flattering." Thanks for the confidence boost Mom.

"It's okay he doesn't mind." I walked back down the stairs, out of breath. Calum was laying across the couch with his hands behind his head, eyes closed. Marvin's Room by Drake was playing in the background. He had such good music taste. I gently rubbed his leg as I walked by.

"You tired?" His eyes shot open.

"Yeah kinda. Sorry."

"It's okay. I am too."

We sat quiet for a second while Drake still played.

"I wanna get to know you better." He said out of the blue as he propped himself up with his arm.

"Okay, how?"

"I don't know..."

I got up and went to one side of the L-shaped couch and laid down so I faced the intersecting corner. Calum shifted so he met me face to face at the corner.

"Maybe we could play truth." I said, really suggesting anything.

"What's that? Like truth or dare but with out dare?"

"Yeah, basically. You can't refuse the question and you have to answer with the 100% truth."

He nodded his head in approval and turned his mouth in to an affirmative frown.

"Okay, let's play. I'll ask you something first." He said. He paused a second.

"Did you really want to go on this date, or did Bay force you?"

I don't want to answer this truthfully. I loudly sighed.

"Being honest, Bay made me go." I thought of how rude that sounded and how I've actually always had a crush on him. But before I could, he said,

"I knew a girl like you would never go for me." He let his head fall down to the couch. I can't stand how sad he looks.

"But, I'm glad I decided to come now. You're a great guy." I smiled really big, I finally got to say my feelings.
