Alissa's POV
When I woke up Monday morning, I felt like actually caring about what I wore to school. I put on an Aerosmith tank top and a red and black flannel. Then I put on black skinny jeans and all black vans. I straightened my hair, grabbed my phone, and headed out the door. I got in my car and my phone vibrated. Bay texted 'Could you drive me to school? Mom's being a bitch.' I texted back a short 'Yep' and took the long drive to her house.
When I pulled into her driveway, she basically ran to the car.
"Hey." She said as she shut the door.
"Is something wrong? Does Ashton need a ride?" I asked her.
"No to both. Mom's just being extraordinarily rude today."
"Oh, ok." I pulled out of the driveway. "Did Stephen ever show his face this weekend?"
"No. Even if he did, Luke would have protected me."
"Speaking of Luke, how are things going with you two?" I asked, curious if he was still interested after all that happened.
"If he sticks around through all this, I think we're good. How are you and Calum?"
I sighed. "Well, we got into our first argument, and he's not even my boyfriend yet."
"What about?" She turned to me, showing genuine concern. I explained everything to her from Chelsea, to the lying, to his how he says he ruins relationships, and to the awkwardly intense kiss.
"Wow. Do you still like him?"
"Well, I've been thinking about it and I don't know if I could see a future with him. The thing is, when we were arguing, he kept a calm and understanding tone the entire time. I was really mad. When I went home after, I thought about just breaking it off and saying that what he did was too much. I don't think that even entered his mind." I sighed. "But when I attempted to apologize, and we kissed, I- I just felt something. Something that made me believe that I did still want him in my life." I took another pause. "I'm worried that I've liked him for so long that I have this picture in my mind that he's some perfect guy and when I finally have him, he's not. Should I break it off or not?"
She nodded her head in consideration before she answered.
"Sticking with it could lead to something more and make you happy, but it could also turn out bad. You'll never know if you don't try. Everyone deserves a chance, A, you know that."
"I'm just worried that someone is going to be heartbroken. He obviously doesn't want to break my heart, and I can't do that to him, he's too sweet. I guess I'll keep it up until I know for sure."
We were silent for the rest of the ride to school. We walked in and I went to my locker, and Bay to her's. I started put in my combination when Calum leaned against the locker next to mine.
"Hey babe." He smiled. I grabbed him in a hug and gave him a kiss on the cheek. "Well good morning." He whispered.
"Are you sure you still want to be with me after our fight?" I whispered back.
"Of course, Alissa." He answered like it was obvious. "Well this is kind of an awkward question, but I have to ask." He looked down and ran his fingers through his hair. "Will you be my girlfriend? I know it's sudden..." He looked up and bit his bottom lip.
I remembered what Bay said about how everyone deserves a chance.
"Yes, you dork." I smiled and pulled his shirt collar, bringing his lips to mine.
"You are so amazing." He whispered right into my ear.
