Alissa's POV
It's rare for me to wake up before noon on a Saturday. But, this time I woke up at 1 am for really no reason at all. I closed my eyes and tried to fall asleep, but a million thoughts about our date ran through my head. I was literally centimeters away from kissing Calum, the guy I've had a crush on for so long, and I didn't. He probably doesn't even want to go on another date, he was just being polite. He can't hold it against me, though. We barely know each other. My thoughts were interrupted by my phone loudly vibrating on my bedside table. I mindlessly grabbed it. It was a message from a number I don't have a contact for. "Something's wrong with Bay." Because of last night's events, I wasted no time grabbing a pair of shoes and the keys and running to the car.
I sped all the way to Bay's house. I pulled into the driveway and noticed there were two other cars by her's, neither of them her mom's. I'm not surprised. One of them was Luke's, the other I'd never seen before. I ran out of the car to the front door. I slowly opened it to see Bay curled up in fetal position with Luke's arms draped over her, engulfing her completely. It was really cute. I walked over to her and crouched on front of her. She had tears running down her cheeks, making them red and puffy.
"Are you okay? What happened?" I asked her in a quiet voice. "Who's car is out there?" She whispered something to Luke and he unwrapped his arms, folded his hands in his lap, and looked down at his hands. Bay grabbed my hand and pulled me to the kitchen.
"I had a panic attack last night. Me and Luke we're watching movies and talking and stuff and we heard a noise downstairs. Luke went to see what it was. I followed him down and I lost him. It was dark, and I thought it was Stephen and got really freaked out. I started screaming and crying. I'm really scared, Alissa." She said between labored breaths. I pulled her in for a hug.
"Have you told Luke?"
"No not yet."
I pulled out from the hug but still held her arms.
"Are you crazy? He needs to know it's not his fault! He's probably beating himself up. You have to tell him, now." I told her. She walked back to Luke.
"Hey, who's car is out there? You never told me." Almost on cue, I felt an arm snake around my waist and the hand rest on my hip.
"Mine babe." I looked to the right to see Calum with a cute half smile. He was wearing a blue SnapBack turned backwards, and looked incredibly good. I smiled really big and turned in for a hug.
"Hi Cal." I said with my head in his chest. "What are you doing here?" I lifted my head to look him in the eyes.
He looked at me, making his face as close to mine as it was on his porch. I felt a hitch in my breath as he started talking.
"Luke texted me to come help calm Bay down." His voice got suddenly quieter. "I wasn't really sure what to do, actually. But, he needs moral support right now." I smiled at him again, he's an amazing friend to Luke. I started thinking about our time on the porch.
"So, um. Last night." I started.
"What about last night? It was great." He said with through his crinkly-eyed smile. We smile a lot when we're together. That's a good thing I guess.
"I was thinking about, well..." How do you tell a cute boy you made a mistake when he tried to kiss you and now you actually do want to kiss him? I'm having trouble. "I really, um, I-"
That's when he smashed his lips onto mine. I mean that in the most literal sense. It was amazing. His lips were so soft and I felt like we were frozen in time as they touched mine. I kissed him back, softer. I pulled away.
"I had to. You were talking too much." he breathed to me in a deep voice I've never head from him. It was incredibly sexy. "Your lips are really soft." He commented like it was nothing.
I silently took in the moment, then said "We need to go to them."
"Did you not want me to kiss you?" He asked, sounding offended.
"No, that's all I ever wanted." I said as I walked back towards Bay and Luke.
