Alissa's POV
We sat in the living room, quiet. The only sounds were small sniffles from Bay and you could occasionally hear Luke kissing her head and softly whispering to her. Calum had his arm around me and I leaned against him, with my hand on his leg. He shrugged his shoulder, wanting me to look at him. 'Should we leave them alone?' he mouthed to me. I looked over at Luke and Bay, noticing how they were still latched on to each other, and looked back to Calum. I simply nodded and I stood up. He followed.
"We're going to leave you guys alone, okay?" I said in a quiet voice.
"Okay." Bay said, barely audible.
We walked out the door side by side and stood in the driveway for a second.
"I'm gonna go home. I'll text you later, okay?" I said as I took him in a hug. We separated and I gave him a quick kiss on the cheek. I tried to pull away, but he kept his grip on my waist and pulled me in for a kiss. "You've got nerve kissing a girl you barely know." I said, our faces still centimeters away.
"Well you must like gut because you kiss me back." He said, emphasizing the 'ck' from the rest of what he said.
"Well I'll text you, Gutsy." I smiled at him and walked to my car.
I walked in, the house still quiet. My mom is still not awake. I walked up to my room, laid on my bed, and pulled out my phone. 'I really had fun on our date and earlier. I think I really like you. :)" I was about to send it when I realised how lame it sounded. I remembered to follow what Calum does, be gutsy. 'Do you wanna hang out later?' I texted instead. I sent it to Calum, sat my phone on my stomach, and waited. We've been together a lot in the past two days, but I feel like I could spend all the time in the world with him. He seems different from other guys I've been interested in. He actually cared. He quickly texted back 'Definitely babe. Wanna catch breakfast?" He texted back. It's 6 am, there's probably nowhere open. 'Is anything open?' I returned. 'Probably not, why don't you just and join me at my house?' My feel couldn't carry me fast enough as I ran to the car. I got in and sat down to text Calum 'On my way'. I also texted my mom 'I'm getting breakfast, be back soon.' and drove off.
I pulled into his driveway and knocked on the door. I stepped back as the door opened to reveal a small woman in pajamas.
"Can I help you?" She asked with a tired and confused look on her face.
"Um, I'm here for Calum. He invited me for breakfast?"
"Calum,-" she turned towards me, "what's your name?"
"Alissa."
"Calum, Alissa is here for you!" She smiled at me. "I'm Calum's mom. He's coming. Are you his girlfriend? He never tells me anything." She quietly asked me.
"Something like that." I said with a smile.
"You certainly look better than that last one, Chelsea I believe." Calum appeared behind her shoulder and smiled, showing his teeth. Of course, his smile was contagious making me smile. His mom stepped out of the way.
"Come on in." He got out of the way. I walked in and was taken back by his house. It was really nice and roomy. I followed Calum into the kitchen with dark wood finish on all the cabinets and a large silver fridge. "What would you like?" He asked me as he grabbed a banana for himself.
"A banana is fine." He handed me the one in his hand and got another one for himself. We silently ate our bananas at his kitchen counter. When we finished, I followed him into his living room. His mom sat in a recliner, leaving the couch wide open. Calum laid across the couch on his left side, looked at me, then down at the large empty space in front of him, then back at me. I smiled and laid down in front of him. He shifted to lay on his back, and I put my head on his chest. The tv was on some morning news, not very interesting. I felt my eyelids getting heavy as Calum slowly rubbed his hand up and down my back. I felt comforted by his subtle heartbeat and the slow rise and fall of his chest with every breath. I started thinking to myself, Calum has made it so easy for me to like him. We haven't said more than 15 words but we're getting so much closer. He kissed the top of my head and I felt myself drift off to sleep with the faint sound of Calum quietly whispering to me.
