Bay's POV
I looked at Alissa through the rearview mirror. What was she thinking? This wasn't like her, at all. It was spontaneous, ballsy, not to mention pure fucking genius. I was proud of her, and really wanted to know if this was his idea.
I looked over at Luke, as the light hit his face just right. Each passing headlight, lit him up like a Christmas tree. The light bounced off his cheekbones and seemed to fall down his neck. How could someone look like this, and not be considered a God? His foot lightly pressed the brake as the light turned red. I was still watching him as he turned towards me. His amazingly blue eyes held mine for what seemed like years. 'Just kiss me please' I thought to myself. As if he had heard my pleading, he leaned in, his eyes shifting to my lips. I leaned in slowly, breathing in and trying to slow down my heartbeat. It felt like we were the only two people in the world.
"Uh, light's green, man." And with those words, Calum fucking Hood shattered my alternate reality.
"Oh, yea, sorry." Luke shifted back to his original position and drove on. I leaned back against my seat and closed my eyes for a short moment. I looked back to Luke and he looked at me with puppy dog eyes.
"Later." I mouthed to him. He giggled and bounced a little in his seat. I felt Alissa's eyes penetrating my skull through the seat so I looked through the mirror to her.
"What the hell?" She mouthed. She seemed really upset.
"What?" I mouthed back. I didn't understand why she was mad.
"Why didn't you just kiss him?!" Alissa is the only human being I have ever met, that can silently scream at you and it have the same effect. I didn't feel like having her scream at me through a mirror so I pulled out my phone for the first time that night. It read 11 missed calls, 42 unread messages, and 11 voicemails. I started to panic, was something wrong? A thousand questions went through my head as I frantically pressed buttons, listening to all my voicemails.
"Hey, hey." Luke said calmly, placing his hand over mine as I clutched the phone. I was furious and he could see it.
"What's wrong? Did something happen?" He had a sincere look of concern in his eyes.
"Just mom stuff." I said placing my other hand over his. Alissa's head popped up next to my shoulder between Luke and I. She looked at me, knowing what "mom stuff" really meant.
"He's back, isn't he?" She asked, out in the open. I shot her a look that could kill and she say back in her seat. Luke's hand was still resting on mine, as I realized I was shaking. I felt his fingers intertwine with mine and squeeze lightly. I looked up at him and suddenly stopped shaking, as we pulled up outside of Alissa's house.
"I'll talk to you tomorrow, Cal." Luke said as they got out. Alissa came up to my window as I rolled it down. She held my face in her hands.
"Text me later if you're at home alone." She looked me dead in the eyes. Her look said but one thing, 'This won't happen again.'
"I promise." I took her hands from my face and waved as she walked up and into her house with Calum. With that, it was only me and Luke, alone.
"Well, I don't know what that was about, but there's no way you're staying by yourself." He looked at me like there was no argument I could say. I just simply nodded and grabbed his free hand. I wasn't going to say no to Luke Hemmings, that's for damn sure.
