Bay's POV
I opened my eyes, my vision blurry. There was a searing pain radiating from my forehead, by my eyebrow. Someone was standing above me but I couldn't make the face out. I wanted to say something but my mouth couldn't form the words. I lifted my head and looked down at my body, as I seemed to be laying on the couch. As my vision started to clear, I realized there were more people around. I shifted, wanting to get up.
"Woah there Little B, you took a nasty headbutt from the island in there and cracked open an eyebrow. You need to stay here for a bit." Ashton said, answering most of the questions running through my mind. I laid back down and looked at the other figure that had been standing above me.
"I'm really sorry B. I had no idea what was happening, on the account that Ash never tells me anything. If I had known, I never would have gone down there until I talked to you first." Michael rambled, looked down at his shoes the whole time.
"I-It's-It's okay Michael." I stammered, smiling weakly. I felt a familiar hand grab mine and I looked at it. Luke smiled at me and kissed my forehead. I winced, slightly, and felt Luke tense up. "Can I go to my room?" I asked, knowing I would need help getting up the stairs.
"Yeah, if you want." Ashton said, moving towards me.
"I got her." Luke said to Ashton as he wrapped his arms around me to pick me up. Ashton backed up, nodding to Luke, as if to okay it. Michael was still looking at his shoes as if he had done something wrong on purpose. I pointed towards Michael so Luke would carry me to him. Michael's head was hung so low, it was like he was trying to kiss his shoes. I lifted his forehead to my lips and kissed it lightly.
"It's okay, I'm fine." I smiled as Luke carried me away and up to my bedroom. I had left the door open sometime earlier, so he just carried me in and laid me on the bed. "So how hard did I actually hit the island?" I asked, wanting to know how big the gash was without having to look in the mirror.
"I don't know. I was out in the treehouse with your brother, when his friend came running out. He was screaming how sorry he was and how he didn't mean to scare you." Luke answered, as he tucked me into bed.
"I could see him doing that." I laughed, picturing Michael running around in circles.
"Yeah, Calum tells me about Michael sometimes. I think they play Xbox or something together." He laid down next to me and brushed my hair back. I took a deep breath and put my head on his outstretched arm.
"So, what did you and Ashton talk about?" I asked
"Oh you know, normal guy talk. Girls, sports, drinking." He laughed. He winked at me and brushed my nose with his.
"Luke, be serious." I looked to him, waiting for the truth.
"That's private treehouse talk you're asking for Miss, and I don't have the clearance to give that to you." He laughed, shaking the bed.
"Lucas Robert Hemmings." I looked at him, as he stopped laughing.
"Why do you want to know so bad?" He asked, no longer joking around.
"I just do. Ashton has a way of being overprotective and over the top when it comes to me." I said as I twirled my thumbs around. Luke looked at me and gave in.
"Okay, I'll tell you. He asked me if I knew about your dad, so I said yeah. He, then, asked me how much I knew about what happened last summer, and I said everything. Then I told him that I would always be here to protect you, no matter what, and he, uh, he hugged me and said welcome to our screwed up family." Luke awkwardly fiddled with the Nirvana shirt I had given him last night.
"Welcome to our screwed up family. So glad to have you." I wrapped my arms around him and laughed.
"You know this was a hell of a first date." I looked at him and smiled. "By far the best one I've had." He smiled and leaned in to kiss me Just before our lips touched, Ashton and Michael came barging into the room. They shut the door, turned around and at the same thing at the same time.
"They're back."
