SQUAD! So, last one didn't really have Jungkook in it, so I made this one special because yas win what a beautiful person. Enjoy for chiz!
It was Wednesday night. I sat at my desk, tapping my pen against the wooden surface as I finished up the last of Jungkook's scheduling for the next week. He was going on a trip with his father to South Korea to meet up with some of their partners, so I was just checking over everything.
Despite what I thought, it hasn't been awkward with him. I got to work on Tuesday and he acted normal. Well, not normal, he wasn't mean or annoying, but he wasn't smug either. Part of me was a little on edge with him acting this way, but at the same time maybe he was being sincere and letting me make a decision on my own.
I slide out of my desk once I had finished and lightly knocked on his door. He nodded his head for me to come in, still keeping his eyes on his computer.
"I updated your schedule for next week. It's in your calendar, but if you want a hard copy I can print it out."
"No, that's okay." He let out a light sigh. "Thank you, you can go home now- oh wait, what time is it?"
"Umm," I looked down at my watch. "10:18."
"Jesus why are you here so late?" He leaned back in his chair.
"I was working." I forced myself not to roll my eyes.
"Well, give me like five minutes and I can drive you home."
"Jungkook." I gave him a look. "I don't need you to drive me home every time it get's dark. I can take care of myself."
He raised an eyebrow. "Is getting kidnapped by two boys and having to be saved considered taking care of yourself?"
"Ah-" I stuttered. "That is a totally different situation! Oh, whatever." I grumbled as he started to smile.
"Five minutes." He said looking back at his computer.
I sat down in the chair in front of him, slouching my shoulders. "So, do you have any plans tomorrow?"
"Plans other than coming in?" He said, not taking his eyes off of the screen.
"Nobody is coming in tomorrow." I narrowed my eyes. "Why would you?"
"Because I have stuff to do."
"But it's Thanksgiving." I complained. "Are you really going to work? What do you have that is so important?"
"Nothing." He looked up and smiled, turning off his computer and standing up. "Come on." He grabbed his jacket and keys and walked past me as I stumbled to get up and follow him.
"Wait," I ran after him. "If you have nothing important to do tomorrow, then what is the point of coming in? Spend time with your family."
Jungkook's jaw clenched slightly. "We don't really do Thanksgiving. Never have."
My eyes widened as I watched him. He kept a straight face, but by his tensed posture I knew he didn't like it.
"But-" I started.
"My dad was never home, my mom didn't want to bother telling the cooks to do something special, so growing up we never did anything like it. Besides, it's not really a holiday, it's just a day people can use as an excuse to eat more food than they should."
"Says the one who ate six things of ramen five seconds after you said you were full." I tried to get him to look at me. "You're telling me all throughout your life you never watched the parade? Or played football?"
