Chris was sitting at the table when I walked in. He grinned over at me and jerked his head, indicating I should sit next to him.
"I made you a board on pinterest." He said, scrolling through his computer.
I sat next to him, dropping my bag with sigh. "Okay, before you go overboard, I just want to look good for the company party on Saturday."
"Nope." Chris said stubbornly. "You have to go all in. Waiting till Saturday is a good idea though, we can throw everything at him at once. You are going to look nice after though, if you only look good for one day, that won't do anything."
Hating that he was right, I let my head rest in my hand as I carelessly watched him.
"So we should look for a dress for Saturday first then." Chris said, closing his computer. "And I know just where to go."
Chris stood and offered a hand. I took it lazily and followed him out the door. It wasn't cold yet, but it wasn't hot anymore, which was nice. Chris and I walked along the New York City streets, stuck to each other's side.
"So what did you have in mind?" I would be lying if I said I wasn't scared about what this boy was thinking.
"I need a dress that screams suck my dick! But not literal." He added quickly. "And I think I remember seeing one that would work perfectly, but it wasn't on the rack yet."
"What do you mean?"
"I saw it in Colleen's office, it was something that she had been working on for a while." Colleen Joyce, his boss.
I yanking back on Chris's arm. "If it is not on the rack yet, then that means I can't wear it."
"It's worth asking." Chris shrugged, pulling me after him. "Come on, the worst that could happen is she says no. She likes giving people makeovers more than I do. If anything, she is going to want to fill up your whole closet for you."
"I don't think I am comfortable going to the editor and chief of Vogue.com."
"But you have met her before." Chris urged. "Come on please? If she says no we can go out to Korean barbecue and I will pay, deal?"
I raised my eyebrow. "Deal." I agreed, not able to resist the best food of all time.
We took the subway to where Chris works. It was pretty late at night by the time we got there. The building was empty, even the lady at the front desk was gone.
"Is she even here?" I whispered.
"She should be." Chris said slowly, using his key card to get upstairs. There were no lights on upstairs, except for one. Chris relaxed slightly as he opened the door to his boss's office.
She jerked her head up from the desk, her eyes wide. Her hair was slightly messed up and her eye makeup was smudged.
"Did you fall asleep again?" Chris sighed quietly. "Miss. Joyce, you should just go home."
"If I was home I wouldn't be here to greet you and-" She looked at me. "Oh, oh my gosh this is your roommate, right? Drew was it?"
I nodded, surprised she remembered my name. "It is a pleasure seeing you again." I bowed my head lightly.
"Not like this I am sure." She stood with a warm smile. "So what brings you two here at this hour? Did you forget something Chris?"
"No," Chris said hesitantly. "I was actually wondering if I could ask for your help." Chris continued at the nod she gave. "She needs a makeover. See, she works for CjJ entertainment, and the son of Chen Jeon is her ex crush from high school. He totally called her ugly though in high school so she has hated him ever since, but he has come to work at the firm that she does and he remembers her and is still saying she is not pretty and all that. There is a party this Saturday for the company, and she wants to knock him on his ass by looking really good, and of course we are going to have to clear out her closet and completely refill it. Normally, I wouldn't come to you unless I really needed help with something like this."
