Rylie's POV

I kind of lied to Neptune. Calum and I weren't exactly together, but that didn't matter. I was just happy that we were friends again.

After a while, I'll tell her that me and Calum aren't together. I can't right now though because it might put us in a hard spot again.

I walked to my next period, my last period.

Over the summer, I had a lot of free time while Neptune and I weren't friends.

It ended up with me getting a drivers license, a job at Twisty Tree, and a spot on the baseball and volleyball team.

I've bit off more than I can chew if you can't tell.

Due to me being on two sports teams, I don't have to take gym class which I had seventh period. That was replaced with a free period, allowing me to leave after sixth period.

Pretty cool huh?

I walked to civics class, taking a seat in the back left of the classroom. My signature spot.

Neptune walked in, her black Vans clicking on the tiled floor.

She was now wearing a maroon colored hoodie in oppose to her all black outfit.

She looked at me and excitedly walked towards my seat.

"That hoodie isn't yours!" I exclaimed, smiling a toothy grin, probably showing off my ugly braces.

"It's Luke's." She smirks, wiggling her eyebrows in a joking matter.

"Are you two, like...a thing now?" I ask.

"As of second period, yes." She holds back a smile by biting the inside of her cheek.

"Oh my god!" I yell, and I'm glad that class hadn't started yet. That would've been awkward. "I ship it." I smirk, and we both laugh.

The teacher walks in after the bell rings and begins talking.

The whole period, Neptune and I were hitting and kicking eachother while our oblivious teacher wasn't looking, holding in laughs.

Class ended and we said our goodbyes.

I road on my skateboard to baseball practice and changed into my uniform and grabbing my mitt and bat, heading out to the field.

I chewed on a piece of gum as I adjusted my baseball cap.

We split the team up and I lined up at the batting cage.

My friend Lukas and Tyler lined up in front of me and fought over who got to bat first and I laughed hysterically.

They finally decided that Lukas would go first.

He hit it after the second try and got to first base.

Tyler hit first try and made it to first base while Lukas ran to second.

My turn.

I stood in position, tapping my bat on the diamond mat.

"Bring them home." My coach said, I nodded.

I hit the ball second try and threw my bat, bolting for first base.

Lukas was home.

I was now heading for second base.

Tyler was almost home.

Someone ran towards me with the ball in hand, trying to tag me when my coach yells, "HOME IS YOUR TOP PRIORITY!"

The person chasing me headed for Tyler but he was already home and I was already at third.

"GET THE BALL TO THE PITCHER." My coach yelled to the guy with the ball.

He didn't listen and tried chasing me home.

I stopped and began running back to third and the guy threw the ball to third baseman and I laughed as I ran back to home.

What an idiot.

I hunched over with my hands on my knees, I took off my hat trying to cool down.

My coach laughed and ruffled my hair.

"You can head to the pit." He smiles.

I nod and head to the pit and sat on a bench, checking my phone.

A text from Neptune.

Neptune🔮: Can you pick me up?

I told my coach I was leaving early, got changed and went home to pick up my car.

I began driving to school.

I pulled up in the parking lot and Neptune knocked on the passenger side window.

I unlocked the car and she hopped in, "Thanks." She smiles.

I put the car in drive and begin to drive to Neptune's house.

"Why are you so sweaty?" She asks.

"Baseball practice." I say.

"You made the team?!" She exclaims.

"Yeah." I smile.

I missed Neptune and the support she gave me.

I had to admit I was the worse friend in this relationship.

As we pulled onto Neptune's street she groaned.

"What?" I ask.

"My parents are home." She sighed, pointing to the two parked cars taking up the driveway.

"You can come to my house if you want?" I ask.

She shakes her head.

"Actually, can you drop me off at Michael's house?" She asks.

I shrug.

"I don't see why not. May I ask why you're going though?" I ask.

"My science teacher was very eager to start class. She's already assigned a project." She rolls her eyes.

I laugh. "Sucks. Mrs. Gonzalez?" I ask.

"Miss." She corrects. "It's miss for a reason."

I laugh and pull up to Mikey's house.

"I'm glad I have Mrs. Martinez." I laugh. "Bye Neptune." I said as I hugged her.

She gets out and slams the door shut.

I drive home in exhaustion.

I was soooo tired.
