Neptune's POV

Ashton said he would pick me up after yearbook, so I stood outside waiting for him. Rylie already went home with some new friend she made, or something.

When I saw Ashton's car pull in, I smiled. He unlocked the car, and I got in.

"Hey." I said to him.

"How was school?" He asked, just like my mom always did. I chuckled, "Good, I suppose. Rylie made a new friend, and he's a jerk. What about you?"

"Okay. Can I ask you something?" He asked, turning the corner.

"Yeah, sure."

"Do you... Care if people are gay?" He asked quietly. I think I know where I this was going.

"Are you asking if I'm homophobic? Because if you are gay, I'm okay with it." I said simply. I didn't want to blow it out of proportion.

"I am, b-but I wanted to tell you first. I trust you more than anyone, even though I've known the boys longer. Do you think they'll care?"

"They're your friends, Ashton. Plus, I'm can't be homophobic because I'm bi, and genderfluid."

"Genderfluid?"

"It means that, like... I was born as a female, but I don't have a set gender. I sometimes feel like a girl, and sometimes I feel like a guy. Ya know?"

He chuckled, "Not really, no. But, I don't judge. Anyway, you're bi?" He asked, stopping the car in front of his house.

I nodded, "Yup, and my first kiss was a girl too."

"I thought Luke was."

I got out of the car and we walked in the house, "Nope."

"Are gonna tell hi-" He stopped when he saw Luke sitting with Michael and Calum. I felt my face getting red, that could've gone very badly.

"Tell who what?" Luke asked.

"Oh, nothing. Just some stupid homework thing." I lied.

"Oh okay. Wait, why are you here so late?"

"I had yearbook." He walked over to me, and pulled me into a hug. I hugged him back, and sat down with my friends.

"Where's Rylie?" Michael asked.

"She's with her new friend. I hate him, but I don't know..." I shrugged, and sat between Luke's legs.

I grabbed my phone and texted her real quick.

Me: Hey, are you coming over?

Rylie🙊: I've got homework and shit to do... Tell the guys I'll be there later.

I sighed, "She's doing 'homework.'"

"Oh..." Calum and Michael said in unison. I nodded. Well, they sure know how to keep a conversation.

"Can we do something not boring?" I asked sarcastically.

"Like...?" Ashton asked.

"Oh, please. We all know she wants to be alone with Luke." Michael joked. Well, I couldn't tell if he was joking because he was right. I blushed, and Luke just grabbed my hand and pulled outside.

"Want a ride?" Ashton called.

"Sure!"

After Ashton dropped us off at my house, I looked around to make sure my dad wasn't home, and then got out, "Thanks, Ash." I said.

Luke and I walked inside, and my mom was in the kitchen. She looked up at us, "Where have you been?"

"I had yearbook, remember? The meetings are until 4:15." I said.

"Mhm... Well, are you guys hungry? Want any snacks, or something to drink?" She asked. I looked at Luke. He shook his head.

"We're good." I answered, "And we'll be upstairs of need anything." I grabbed Luke's hand and pulled him up to my room. He looked around at the walls that were covered with posters.

"So, this is your room."

I giggled, "Yeah, like it?"

"It's cool. I like your posters. Big fan of Green Day, I see?"

"Huge, oh my god, I love them."

"Me too. They're my favorite band." I smiled, and turned on the band that we were currently bonding over, "Can I ask you something?" I said to Luke as I sat down on my bed. He sat with me, "Yeah, of course."

"Well, it's more like telling you something because Ashton told me something, and... I know he probably won't want me to tell you, but-" He cut me off, "He's my best friend. I'm not gonna be mad."

"That's what I told him. Anyway, would... Would you care if Ashton was gay?" I asked.

"Of course not. It's his life, not mine."

Thank god he wasn't bothered by it, I thought.

"Right, so what if I was...?"

"You wouldn't have agreed to being my girlfriend."

"Okay, but what if I was bi?"

"Like Ashton, it's your life. I still lov- like you the same, and I'm not going to be mad at you, or anything, for it." I smiled, and blushed. Luke pulled me into his arms, and I wrapped my arms around his torso. He looked me in the eyes, and then his eyes flicked towards my lips. I rolled my eyes, and connected my lips to his. He smiled into the kiss, and then pulled away.

"Are your parents okay with me?" He asked.

"My mom is. I'm... not sure about my dad. But, it's okay. As long as we have each other, right?" I kissed him again, and his hands wrapped around my waist.
