Anjali:

Arjun handed me my ticket for the hop on hop off bus "Are you ready?" he asked eagerly as the bus pulled up.

"Of course I'm ready!" I said as the bus pulled up.

"Let's sit on top, I want to see everything!" I said.

"But, it's so cold," Arjun complained. "Can't we sit on the inside part of the bus?"

"What's the fun in that?" I asked.

Arjun grunted.

"Come on, you've seen San Francisco a thousand times, this is my first time doing all of the touristy things. Be a sport and act touristy with me," I pleaded.

"Fine," Arjun said, "but, just know I've come prepared. I had a feeling you were going to want to sit on the open top part of the bus."

"What did you bring a blanket?"

"Nope," he smiled. He grabbed my hand and we walked up the stairs to the upper deck. Once we were seated he placed my hand in his jacket pocket. I felt a metal container.

"What is it?" I asked confused.

He pulled it out and discreetly opened the top and bent down and took a swig and then handed it to me.

It was a flask and I could smell the liquor on his breath.

I hit him on the back, "It's ten in the morning Arjun!"

"And it's fifty-eight degrees outside and you want to sit outside on a moving bus!"

"Suit yourself," I said.

"Trust me, in a short while you're going to be begging me for a sip!"

I laughed not feeling the cold yet, however two hours later after we sat frozen on the top of the bus touring through all of the highlights of the city.

"Okay, hand it over," I said feeling my fingers go a bit numb.

"But, it's only noon, Anjali. Whiskey for lunch – you're such a whino!"

I slipped my hand into his pocket jacket, "Hand it over before I have to hurt you!" I threatened.

Arjun laughed at me, "I'm so scared."

"You will be once I've regained feeling in all of my limbs!"

"Because I like your limbs, and I don't want anything falling off, I'll share some," Arjun said as he finally handed me the flask.

I took a long sip letting the warm liquid flow through my veins.

"Take it easy, Jersey girl!"

I finally let go of the flask and handed it back to Arjun.

The liquor flew through me and being on the top of the bus didn't feel so good anymore. "I need lunch I declared."

"Didn't you just drink it?" Arjun teased.
