For my desi readers hope you had a wonderful Navratri, Durga puja, and overall a happy holiday. Hope you're all gearing up for Diwali and enjoying the season and festivities.
First of all I apologize for taking so long to write this chapter. I've been super busy and I finally sat down to write and finish off the chapter. I will give away that Anjali and Alex finally meet so please comment on what you think about their first meeting. And this is a long chapter to make up for the long absence. I probably won't be able to update for a while because I have a crazy schedule this week.
Also, I've added the song from Bazigaar - Kali Kali Akhee. I love this song and I can so see Arjun and Anjali jamming to it. The picture of Akshay Kumar is because in this chapter when Anjali meets Alex he has a buzz cut. I think Akshay Kumar looks the best with short hair.
Okay enough chit chat - onto the chapter!

Anjali:
My roommate dropped me off at Arjun's parents house. I waived goodbye letting her know she didn't have to wait for the door to open.
She slowly drove off and I rang the doorbell.
I didn't hear any noise behind the door and I began to worry a little bit. I was pretty sure Arjun had told me to come over at 2pm.
Feeling a little nervous since my ride and already driven off I rang the doorbell again.
Finally I heard footsteps marching towards the front door, "Hold your horses, I'm coming!" I heard someone say.
The door opened and a tall guy in a buzz cut with Bono looking sunglasses stared back at me. Did I have the wrong house? I'd been coming to this house for four years now and I was pretty sure I knew where Arjun and his family lived.
"Hello," the strange guy said.
My tongue got tied and I didn't respond to him but tried to look behind him to see where were auntie and uncle.
He must have thought I was trying to enter the house, which I was and he immediately leaned his broad body into the doorframe and tried to block my view.
I looked up at him and opened my mouth to speak. I was trying to gather the courage. What if he had just robbed or even worse done something to auntie and uncle. With that buzz cut he looked like some kind of ex-military guy. Maybe he had PTSD or something and had gone off the deep end.
"Look lady, we don't need saving from Jesus, we don't need whatever you're selling and we already know who we're voting for. Good day!" he said as he began to slam the door shut into my face.
"Who the hell are you?" I finally asked.
"I live here, who the hell are you?" he responded.
I gather my courage and move forward and put my foot in the door.
"There you are my dear," uncle says as he pushes the man out of the way.
He pulls me in for a big hug and says, "Amar beta what are you doing? Is that any way to treat Anjali beti?? He pulls away from our hug and looks me in the eye, "I'm so sorry for Amar's rude behavior. I don't know what's happened to him; it must be the influence of those rude New Yorkers."
Amar walks over towards us, "You mean this door to door saleswoman is THE Anjali?"
"You must be Alex," I say and I extend my hand, "it's nice to meet you finally."
