I'm really trying to keep the momentum going in 2017 and finish up the story quickly. So please excuse the mistakes - I'm just writing and publishing. I will someday go back and edit my stories. Keep posting comments and voting it makes me want to write more! Love, G.D.

Arjun
I dialed Amar's number and let it ring ten times but still no answer. I'd been calling for a week now and I hadn't been able to talk to him live. Amar would return my every four calls and I got the feeling he would purposely call me back when I was in class.
Ever since his breakup with the Ice Princess he'd gone into a shell. He had yet to come up to Boston since the breakup. He kept making the excuse that with Anjali spending all of her time with Karthik and me studying what would he do in Boston by himself. Maybe Boston reminded him too much of his time here with Christina; so I didn't push it. It was harder for me to get away to New York and when I was free he gave me a million excuses that he would be busy that weekend.
It was late but I decided to call him at work.
Ring. Ring. "Hello, this is Alex."
"Amar, you're working late," I said.
"Arjun, umm, what are you doing calling me at work? Are mom and dad okay?"
"They're fine. How are you?"
"I'm busy, I'm working late tonight. Can I call you later when I have some free time."
"Cut the bullshit Amar! I know you're just spending more time at work because of the breakup but there's nothing you are doing at this moment that can't wait until you've finished speaking with me."
"Okay, Arjun what would you like to talk about?"
"You can't mope forever."
"It's only been two months."
"Two months of avoiding everyone in your life is a long time."
"Arjun did you call to lecture me?"
"Have you thought of dating.. ," I said before getting cut off.
"I'm not discussing this with you," Amar said sternly.
"I'm not telling you to find someone to marry, I'm just saying go out and date."
"You're going to give me advice. What about you? How's your dating life going?"
"It sucks."
"Why? Med school students boring?"
"No I keep comparing everyone woman I meet to Anjali."
Alex didn't respond so I continued. "They're not as funny as her. They're not as easy going as her. They don't dance as well as her."
"But the chemistry is better?"
"Yes the chemistry is better it's the conversation afterwards."
"Are you sleeping around?"
"No! I'm in med school and that's not my style. I just keep comparing every woman to Anjali. And they just don't match up."
"So Anjali is the one except for the chemistry," Alex asked in an exhausted tone.
"Amar, if it wasn't for that I would have asked her to marry me at the end of college and asked her to find a job here in Boston. She'd be my roommate."
