As promised - this is the next chapter posted less than 24 hours after the last one - to make up for the short Chapter12.  Please vote, comment, etc.  In two chapters Alex and Anjali will meet.  I'm half way through writing that chapter and I need some encouragement to finish it.  So please comment!!!! Chapter 14 is already written so I will post once I get some comments and then they meet!!!! So please let me know your thoughts.   Would also love to hear how you feel about Book 3 vs. Book 1 and 2.  I'm also hoping that the quality of my writing has improved.  I've been re-reading parts of Book 1 and yikes it needs some editing!!

Arjun:

I pulled into the dorms and got out of the car quickly. It was now a routine that I dropped off and picked up Anjali from the airport on all of her trips back and forth home.

I quickly pulled out her luggage from the trunk.

The ride from the airport to the dorms was quiet between both of us. Maybe it was because we were juniors and things were getting serious at school. Or maybe because I was avoiding her. I felt so guilty.

"Listen, I'll help you with your luggage but then I have to run. I've got a couple of things I need to take care of before classes start."

Anjali looked up at me startled, "Yes of course, I wasn't expecting you to stay. I actually have to go to the registrars office and change a couple of things on my schedule."

I nodded. "Okay we'll catch up later then," I said as I quickly got her luggage into her room and then left Anjali in her room as fast as I could.

Anjali:

We were into the third week of school and Arjun and I still hadn't caught up with each other from the summer. I needed to stop avoiding him so I picked up the phone and called his room.

"Hello."

"Hey Arjun, it's Anjali. I was wondering if you want to meet up for dinner," I blurted out in one long breath.

"I'm actually not hungry right now. I'm in the middle of a problem right now, and I've got enough food in my room."

"I totally understand not a problem; another time. Talk to you later," I said and quickly hung up.

Honestly I was no longer hungry either. I decided to go to the gym first and then head to the cafeteria afterwards.

A few hours later.

I slumped through the cafeteria line in my sweaty clothes and slimy hair. I was too tired and hungry to bother going back to my room to shower first. I took a few of the most edible looking items and finished the hot food line and headed to the salad bar.

I piled a huge pile of salad onto my plate and moved further down the line to add the rest of the fixings. As I moved down I looked up and on the other side of the salad line I looked into Arjun's dark brown eyes.

I raised my eyebrow, "Did you finish all of your mom's food already?"

Arjun laughed guiltily at being caught, " I missed the mystery meat."

"So how was your summer?" I asked as I dolloped Italian dressing all over my salad.

"Good. And yours?"

"It was good too."

"Anything interesting?"

"No not really."
