A/N: Everybody out there who has a low self esteem, and you think you have a ton of flaws... and trust me, all of us do, just remember, your flaws make up who you are. They don't make you worse, they make you you. And just remember before you beat yourself up to hard when you miss a test question, or your outfit is bad..... you are perfect and don't think otherwise. TO ALL THOSE PEOPLE... this is dedicated to you <3
Tim sat on the roof of the Wayne Manor. It was normal to him, and normal to his adopted dad and grandfather/butler, his adopted brothers, and his adopted sister. It was normal. But to a passerby, or a stranger, or a kid that was just hoping to see the famous Wayne Manor, it looked odd.
But then again, what type of kid sat on the very edge of a shingled rooftop that slanted down? Well, Tim already knew he was no ordinary kid. Even his classmates could see it. Not in the way his 'family' did, but, he was kind of exceptional from the start.
In his studies, his extra-curricular activities, his everything. He was always recognized at school as the genius. And at home he was respected for being an amazing hacker. Even on the streets as his superhero identity, he was tough, and almost as feared as Batman was. No one could beat Batman, though.
But if Timothy Jackson Drake were to be totally honest, he hated being exceptional. No one could see past his almost perfect exterior, and see flaws, imperfections, and odd things. No one could see he was just another 14 year old, trying to figure out the world. How to take it on. He knew he was more fortunate since he was smarter, better, maybe faster at everything, but sometimes it could be a small curse. And no one could seem to find his major flaws. Well, there were only two that were bad and they were major enough. He couldn't be on stage. He had a hard time talking to people.
With talking to people... Like, with girls outside his family and team, he couldn't talk to them. He would say something bad or mean or maybe even insulting, but he never meant it. He just couldn't think of the best thing to say. So he kept quiet and to himself. He just couldn't get how Dick, or sometimes even Damian and Jason were able to talk that easily to people. But Bruce Wayne, how was he able to talk to them so easily and never even give away his identity? Every time he spoke, he was afraid... what if he said the wrong thing? What if he accidentally talked about Red Robin, and whilst he was talking they saw his face blush and his eyes avert anybodies? What if they got suspicious? He couldn't have his family risk being found out!! They might all go to jail! After all, they were vigilantes... And he knew it would be useless to get his family to lie out of it..... or bribe out of it.....
And one stage... that was just a fear. A fear..... how did people do it?
"Hey Timmy," Dick stood behind him, his black hair mussed, his eyes sparkling, and his hands on his hips in that sassy position that he used on Bruce when he got in trouble,"What's up?"
"Nothing.." Tim lied, trying to smile and failing. But then again, he wasn't able to lie as easily either.
"I know somethings up. I mean it's been about five hours since you've been up here! So I brought you a snack. You know, thought my baby bro might be a little hungry!" Dick kindly said, holding out an apple and a black of cheese, then after Tim grabbed them, he sat by him,"What's wrong?"
"There's no hiding anything from anyone in the Bat family is there?" Tim sighed, looking at his carelessly untied Converse.
"You know it!" Dick joked, mussing his brother's hair,"We're a family of detectives kid, you can't hide anything from detectives. Especially the dark rings around the eyes... telling me my Tim bird hasn't been sleeping lately."
Tim knew he shouldn't be surprised, at all,"Wow."
"Yeah," Dick snorted,"But you know you're the best detective of us all! The bestest. Better than Batman."
