*Alex POV*
****Monday****
Ahh I'm excited! This morning the character list goes up wooooo. I was lightly strolling down the corridor to Geography when I bumped into Brad along the way.
"Hey Alex"
"Hey Brad"I could kill this boy right now for what he did.
"Have a nice weekend?"
"Sure" the conversation was really awkward so I decided to pretend I was late for geography. Briskly walking down the corridor I saw Brad walking in the opposite direction, head down and his hands in his pockets.
*Ambers POV*
Alex came and sat down next to me in Geography her face full of frustration. I was staring at nothing in particular, the board was a blurred wave of chalk. My thoughts were disturbed by a vibration in my pocket, I removed my phone and sneakily checked my messages.
TEXT CONVERSATION:
ALEX: Heyy you feeling any better?? Xxx 😞
AMBER: My mind is going f*cking crazy! I think the pressure will soon cause it to explode !! :'((((((
ALEX: aww don't worry I'm sure it won't 😞 but if it does, just for the record I will cry for you! Ooh can I sing at your funeral?? Xxx 😉
AMBER: sure now back to reality Alex! Xxx haha
ALEX: how was your date with Daniel?? Xxx
AMBER: yeah it was great! Until Alice rung me up and told me that Brad had a girlfriend!?:!/?/!/! I had a bit of a mental breakdown xxx 😢
ALEX: aw sweet don't wor-
We were both interrupted by Mr Jones standing by us, clearing his throat, arms crossed impatiently. Alex and I looked up in synchronisation, pleading and apologetic looks on our faces.
"Hand them over now" He said, I didn't need to ask when we could get them back as he continued when he was striding back to the front of the class. "You can reclaim them at the end of the week"
"End of the week!!!!!!!!!!!!" I exclaimed. Alex and I stared at him mouths wide open.
"Yes, the end of the week! Now back to learning abo..."
Again his voice zoned out of my head into a muffle of syllables. End of the week! End of the f*cking week! You having a laugh!! I spent the rest of the lesson violently picking at the edge of my wooden desk.
*Brads POV*
I sat with Connor, Alice and Katy anticipating the results of our auditions. To be honest I was quite nervous. Amber and Alex walked in and came and sat down next to us. Amber didn't make eye contact with me or any kind of contact for that matter. I didn't blame her.
The teacher came strolling in her head tilted upwards. She was carrying a clipboard and made her way up to the stage. Everyone's conversations had subsided and I looked around to a group of about twenty 17 year olds staring at the teacher awaiting the results...
"Right ladies and gentleman" she began with a smile "I'd like to congratulate you all on your auditions they were all of a very high standard"
She began reading through the list, from the extras through to the main characters.
*Alices POV*
Katy and I were happy that we both got the role of the security guards, Kalice stopping crime in District 13 since 2013. Haha. Connor got the role of 'lead protester'.
All that was left in our group was Alex, Amber and Brad...
*Ambers POV*
Ok. Ok. Breathe girl. I anticipated the moment when Miss would read out my name. I saw Daniel smile and wave at me from across the room mouthing 'good luck'. I returned the wave and smile.
*Brads POV*
I saw Amber looking over towards Daniel and it made me angry. Brad you've got a girlfriend stop being jealous!!! She hates you now anyway she won't even talk to you...
"And playing the role of Lilly is Alex" the room applauded and congratulated her.
"And playing the nasty and vindictive Sir Thomas Reynolds is Daniel" Amber and Daniel exchanged excited grins and laughs. Calm . Calm. I clenched my fists to release my anger.
"Next the romantic lovers in our tragic tale, Rose is going to be played by Amber and finally Olover will be portrayed by Brad. congratulations everyone, rehearsals commence this coming Wednesday"
