It wasn't Jacque's fault that Calum was so damn attractive. In fact, it wasn't anyone's fault. Someone should pay his mother for doing such an amazing job. She deserves it.

So, in all honesty, it wasn't Jacque's fault that she had the biggest crush on Calum since she first tasted Nutella. He was gorgeous and she had noticed it. Boy, had she noticed it. She also noticed that Calum didn't flaunt about how attractive he was. She could tell he knew it, but he didn't shove it in everyone's face like Ashton did.

Jacque's strategy was to become friends with Calum and hopefully he would fall in love with her. Sadly, it wasn't that easy. Every time Jacque went to walk up to Calum to say something as simple as hello, right when he turned around, she turned invisible and held her breath. She was so scared that he wouldn't want to be her friend. Right now, they were friends by extension; Calum is friends with Michael, Michael is basically dating Mckenzie, Mckenzie is friends with Maria, and she was friends with both Mckenzie and Maria. They were both in the same friend group and sat at the same lunch table, but they hadn't developed their own friendship yet. Jacque hadn't had what seemed like the right time to talk to Calum, so what did she do? She followed him while she was invisible. At first she hoped that there would be a point where she could make it seem as though they had casually run into each other. Plenty of times had come up, but she was just too scared. She liked walking beside Calum and being in his company, even if he didn't know she was there.

It sounded stalkerish, but it worked. Until it got out of hand.

Sometimes Jacque would get distracted and then she would end up in places she couldn't get out of until Calum left too. She's probably spent two nights just standing in the corner of Calum and Ashton's room because one of them had closed the door before she had the chance to escape. She got stuck in the bathroom with him once too. She had closed her eyes and turned around. Jacque was basically attached to him at the hip and he didn't even know.

Calum had gone back to his room late at night on both of the nights that Jacque got trapped so it was dark, but she sometimes caught Ashton staring in her general direction. She was scared that he could see her, but that was impossible. She was invisible after all.

Now people were dying and Jacque's excuse as to why she kept following Calum around was that she wanted to 'keep him safe'. The boy is a werewolf, and a pretty damn strong one at that. The kid was ripped. That was probably on the list of reasons why Calum made Jacque swoon, but he was also perfectly capable of looking out for himself.

So now they were all sitting at dinner the day after Ms. Vampira had announced the dead body. Jacque had gotten to the table last and the only seat left was next to Calum. She told Lauren not to wait up while she folded her last load of laundry. She should have just left it for later.

Next to Calum was Maria and across from Maria was Mckenzie who was next to Michael (obviously) and he was next to Lauren. Lauren knew about how Jacque felt about Calum, which is why she gave her a devilish smirk when Jacque had to sit next to Calum.

'I'm going to kill you,' she had mouthed to Lauren. Lauren had just smiled and took another bite of her lasagna. Calum was chatting with Maria and Mckenzie about vampire stuff. He asked questions and they answered. Jacque pretended not to be paying attention, but she was listening.

"So each of you has a power?" Calum asked, taking a bite of his burger. The thing looked like it still had a heart beat it was so rare. That's how Jacque usually had hers as well. Must be a vampire and a werewolf thing.

"Yeah, but neither of us have gotten our powers yet," Mckenzie explained. Calum's eyebrows furrowed.

"Why not? When do you get them?"
