Maria hadn't said a word to Mckenzie since dinner and it was pissing Mckenzie off. Maria probably figured that Mckenzie would ask questions, but she was still trying to avoid it. Mckenzie also knew that if she just started throwing questions at Maria, she would build her walls up even higher and Mckenzie would never know the truth about her pasts with Ashton and Luke. There had to be a batter way to approach this...
"Maria?" Mckenzie asked. Maria looked over at her, silently signaling her to go on.
"I think I'm having visions," Mckenzie said. This got Maria's attention. She turned her whole body towards Mckenzie, shifting the position she was sitting in on her bed.
"What do you mean by 'visions'?" she asked.
"I mean I'm having dreams about things and they're coming true."
"How-"
"I dreamt that someone was going to die."
"Mckenzie, I've had plenty of dreams where people have died-"
"I'll bet you one hundred dollars that another person will be dead by the end of the week," Mckenzie was shaking. Maria crossed over to her friends bed and sat down next to her. Mckenzie put her head on Maria's shoulder.
"A lot of things have been happening in my dreams, but one night everything was just so vivid and now part of the dream is coming true." Mckenzie grabbed the tv remote from Maria's bedside table. They usually only used their tv to occasionally watch movies, but this time Mckenzie turned on the news. The weather report was currently on.
"Tell me exactly what happened," Maria said. Mckenzie sat up and leaned against the wall, her legs out in front of her. Her eyes were glued to the tv. Maria moved and sat next to her the same way.
"It was three parts. Usually I forget my dreams right when I wake up, but this one stuck with me. First I was sitting in the student lounge and the tv was on. It said that a body had just been found outside of the bounds of the school and that they were sending in a specialized team of investigators to investigate the crime scene. Then it was like a day had passed. The daylight seemed to go and come and the tv was off and then on again. The news guy said that another body had been found outside of the bounds of Vampira's and that they think it's a vampire. Then it shifted again the same way and two bodies were found and they had concluded that it was a vampire and that the families of the kids who go here are starting to wonder if the integration program was a good idea since people are dying," Mckenzie explained.
"I'm sure it's just a coincidence, Kenz," Maria said softly. Mckenzie shook her head.
"I had deja vu." When supernatural creatures have deja vu, it's never good, and it's very rare.
"Okay, maybe it isn't a coincidence then, but what can we do?" Maria asked. The tv switched back to the regular nightly news anchor, although it wasn't the regular guy; it was a different one. Mckenzie had never seen this guy on the news before, except for...
She shivered. "That's the news anchor from my dream. It's happening again. The deja vu," Mckenzie said. Maria shushed her and turned up the volume.
"Breaking news: another body was found this morning near Vampira's School. Investigators suspect a vampire-" Mckenzie turned off the tv. Maria looked like she'd seen a ghost.
"But that's exactly what you said to me."
"Do you believe me now?" Mckenzie asked.
"To be fair, I never said I didn't believe you," Maria said. It's now or never Mckenzie thought to herself.
"There was another part of my dream, but I don't think it's something that's going to happen." Maria furrowed her eyebrows. Mckenzie sighed. "I think it's something that already happened." Maria sat back and subconsciously played with the ring on her finger.
