What Ashton looked like when him and Maria were together
--------------
Mckenzie ran up behind Lauren and Jacque who were sitting at the lunch table, Maria still walking at a normal pace far behind her.
"I have some stuff to fill in on the chart," she said. Both Jacque and Lauren spun around.
"What is it?" Jacque asked loudly. Mckenzie shushed her and looked around. Maria still wasn't in the room and Ashton was looking over papers with his friends at the next table.
"It's about Maria and Ashton," Mckenzie said.
"How-" Lauren started but Mckenzie cut her off.
"I'll tell you later." Maria walked through the main doors of the dining room the same time Michael and Calum wandered in from the other hallway. Some people whispered things at Maria as she walked by, She seemed to shrink into herself. Some of the girls who went to Vampira's previously gave her apologetic smiles while others were art of the torture crew. Two of the wizard girls at Ashton's table smirked. Either their magic was doing this or everyone is just naturally horrible.
Calum must have noticed Maria because he nudged Michael and pointed. They both speed walked over to her and stood on either side of her for the rest of the walk to the table. No one bothered them. When they got to the table, Maria went to sit between Lauren and Jacque and Calum and Michael sat on either side of Mckenzie.
"Thank you," Maria said. Michael gave her a kind smile.
"People are assholes, Maria. You just have to brush it off and move on," Calum said. Maria sighed.
"I don't know how much more I can take," she mumbled.
"Good afternoon," Ms. Vampira said into the microphone. They were stood in the same order as the first day that the exchange happened. The students mumbled a polite 'good afternoon'.
"Your course selections will start shortly. If you'll look at the papers in front of you-" Suddenly, papers were on the tables in front of each student along with pens. They couldn't use pencils because apparently they count as wooden stakes. "There is a list of required courses for each grade, then there is a list of electives. Your schedule is specifically tailored to you, but that does not mean that you will get every class that you want with every person that you want. Electives and arts requirements vary based on your previous academic records. That is the same for your required courses. As I said, these schedules are tailored to your needs and crucial to your success in this school so please take this process seriously and do not just sign up for a course because your friends are. Happy searching." They all held hands and disappeared as they do.
"Do we all have the same core classes?" Lauren asked.
"Calum's a senior," Michael said. The girls all looked towards Calum.
"How did we never know that?" Mckenzie asked. Calum shrugged.
"Never came up. No one asked."
"Okay well for cores I have Wizards of the World, Fairies in Society, Biology, Werewolf Philosophy, Vampire History, and Calculus. Bio only meets twice a week, but it's required," Maria says, "I'm also required to take Defense in Combat, but I think that's specific to me."
"So is Bio I guess because I have Chemistry," Jacque says.
"Me too," Mckenzie says.
"Yeah me too," Michael says. Mckenzie bites back a smile.
"I have Physics what even," Lauren says.
"I think Bio is a senior class. So is Calc. How'd you get in?" Calum asked.
