You took out a pair of keys from your back pocket with great difficulty. Having to resort in putting down a few bags in the process.
When you finally got them out you unlocked the door, recollected the bags on the floor, and walked into the kitchen, you thought you heard a door slam but ignored it for the time being. It could've been anything.
You placed all of the bags onto the counter and started to put their contents away when a small form ran right behind you.
You looked and saw a shaking little girl, your 10-year-old sister, gripping your shirt. You were about to ask what was wrong when you heard a sadly familiar drunk voice call out:
"OH, don't you Dare run from Me you little Brat!"
The voice seemed angry and slurred, you folded your arms as a woman runs in, her appearance showed that she was middle-aged and badly disheveled. With graying blond hair all tangled up like a rat's nest, her dark blue eyes slightly cloudy.
Her clothes were ruffled up as well, a black shirt and grey pants, she had dark purple and blue round circles around her eyes, which made her seemingly look like a raccoon.
You stared at this woman who was, unfortunately, also known as your mother.
"And what, pray tell, is the meaning of this?" You asked coldly.
Your mother paused slightly at the sight of you, a look of slight fear in her eyes, your sister cowered from behind you when the woman said finally:
"We were just playing tag"
You narrowed your eyes not believing a word she said.
"With a kitchen knife? Really mother, that's not any way to play tag, what really happened." You pulled one arm from your cross and gestured towards the kitchen knife your mother was holding. "Where did you even get it? I thought I locked them all away."
Feeling a tug on your (F/c) T-shirt, you looked down, seeing your sister, frightened as she was, she wanted to tell you something. Though, since she was mute, she couldn't talk like normal so she resorted to Sign Language.
'She found your spare keys. She's trying to hurt us again' You clenched your teeth and snapped your head back to your mother.
"Again?" You stared at your mother's eyes "How much did you drink?" You deduced she was probably black-out drunk, but you were only gone for an hour at most.
Your mother, due to the effects of the alcohol she had consumed earlier, reacted slowly so it took her a few seconds to register what you had said to her when she did answer it was almost enough for you to blow a fuse.
"Half of Devil Springs"
What the What.
The next time you spoke anyone could clearly sense you barely had any control over your anger.
"Half? Of the Devil Springs Vodka? I threw that away months ago." Your hands were shaking. Your mother shrugged.
"I got another one." You furrowed your eyebrows.
"How?! I've made sure you haven't left this apartment for years!"
She had the audacity to smile.
"Technology is wonderful that way."
You growled quietly, but then, a thought came to your mind and the anger turned to stone cold fear. Your brothers. Where were they?
"Elijah, Agrain!! Where are you!?" Now thinking about it, your mother had definitely done something to them, a cry sounded from the direction of their room.
