You tried to kick yourself free of the two guards who were holding you by your forearms but as they were taller than you. You couldn't and it didn't help that they had attached a strange anklet that canceled your magick no matter how hard you tried to summon it.
'So flipping close' You thought bitterly.
You had underestimated the staff here entirely. After you ran out, there were five buff men waiting already and while you managed to knock out three of them, using their own strength against them. However, you were no match for the other two. Now, they were taking you to who knows where.
It didn't help that Gloria was totally shell-shocked. The words she said were still rumbling inside your head. You, powerful? Seriously? That little trick you pulled had been because your emotions went haywire, the same thing happened when you burst out of Warrior's hold on your soul when she threatened to kill your family.
The two guys holding you above the ground turned down multiple hallways that left your head spinning. Finally, they opened a door and what you saw looked achingly familiar to the training ground you saw Warrior using.
The only difference? More than thirty Cowls were in the room. Just standing there.
They all turned around when the door slammed shut and started murmuring to each other. Your eyes darted through the entire congregation. Seeing all types of cat and owl variations. A cheetah and Great grey, a lion and great horned, tiger and whiskered screech. Your eyes couldn't see them all and your head couldn't process that there were more people like you.
"Amazing isn't it?" A chilling voice boasted. You slowly turned your head towards Cain.
"..."
"Of course, you should be the one leading them. Since you were the first." He gave you the side-eye his cold stare boring into your own. (F/c) sparked in your crystal and the entire Cowl population jumped back like they were shocked.
You continued your little staring contest until Cain strode forward and snapped his fingers.
"Start the program." He ordered.
Two men and a woman in lab coats and glasses ran to a large metal box at one end of the room and started fiddling around with it while Cain addressed the group of altered Humans.
"I hope you all have liked the first impression number zero has performed and are excited for what is about to happen." The crowd slowly affirmed, sounding a little more scared than anything.
You were brought up, still held above the floor, and dropped unceremoniously onto the ground in front of a black door. The beefed-up dudes returned to a place beside Cain and a Plexiglas box lowered. You whipped your tail around and once the cage touched the ground the anklet popped off.
Surprised that your magick filled your reserve so quickly you prepared to lob a volley of Owl Claws but Cain raised his hand. He was smiling.
You shoved the magick back as far as you could after sensing a trap. But it was too late. The black door opened and you saw a machine frighteningly similar to the one that changed your life forever roll out and charge up. There was a hole carved to fit perfectly for it to shoot.
"You know, the original purpose for this creation was to dislocate the limbs without human contact for interrogation purposes, but on that fateful day when you broke into my shed...Well, you opened a whole hallway of possibilities." Cain informed.
You took a shaky step back and looked to the right seeing all the Cowls watching in awe, as if they've never seen someone like you.
"I've modified the design since then, if you'll cooperate, I promise no harm will come to your family." You scoffed and glared at him through the slightly foggy plastic.
