David's POV

"Break me out?" I questioned. Feeling confused, I sat down in the metal chair next to me. "Explain, Adam? What's going on?" Adam took a seat on my bed, and sighed. He looked tired, and lost. I felt the same way.

"You've missed a lot. Let's just say, 236 was successful in their endeavours to... get rid of us" He said, taking deep breaths, as if he just had climbed a building or something. When he was done speaking, I needed a moment to breathe myself. What did he mean? 236 wanted us gone? All of us. As in... Izzy and Hope might be somewhere in this sanitarium as well? My heart sank at the thought of them having to go through everything I have. No one deserves to be looked at as if their less of a human being than other people, because of their shaky health. Thinking about it now, it reminded me of when I was overweight. People looked at me as if I wasn't normal, and tried to take extra care of me. It's the same thing now. Doctors and nurses act as if I'm a fragile vase, and they take stupid annoying measures just to make sure I don't break.

"What are you saying, Adam?"

"Izzy... Izzy got sent to jail. She was framed. Framed for Marcus' murder, and now people think she pushed Cate of that bell tower too..."

"What- That's" I said, stopping myself from saying insane. "That's, um, that's HORRIBLE!"

"Yeah, I know!" He ran his hands through his hair, trying to think of a way to continue the story, because clearly the next part was going to be hard for me to hear. A knot is tied in my stomach, and I wait on the edge of my seat for him to continue... literally. "And... Hope. All of her secrets got revealed, and she got sent to boarding school..."

"What!" I yell. At least it wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be-

"In Oregon..." Adam finished. The knot in my stomach tightened, and I thought I was going to be sick. Hope... In Oregon! My best friend was in a different country, and probably hating her life. Poor Hope. She doesn't deserve to be ripped from her friends, and neither does Izzy. Imagining Izzy locked behind a cell, crying night after night made me feel even more nauseous. What has 236 done!?

"At first I thought 236 would've sent them here, but I guess everyone got their own place to hide away forever..." I said. Then a thought occurred to me... if 236 got rid of everyone, why was Adam sitting here, talking to me. "What happened to you?" I ask.

"Well.... look, it doesn't matter. Let's just say I had to hop town. And when I did something... someone drew me back here. And that's when I realized 236 didn't know I was back. And any moment when I'm one step ahead of 236, I'M HAPPY! That's why I came here. To get you. If I could use this time... this time where 236 thinks their safe... to catch them, to use the element of surprise on them, we could end this. But I can't do it alone. 236 has clown mask too. Two vs one isn't a fair fight. But 4 vs 2 sure is... well, for us" Adam smiled. His plan, though true, was way to dangerous. I have a very bad feeling about it.

"So, you want to break me out of here, Izzy out of a prison, and get Hope from Oregon, HOME? That's like- IMPOSSIBLE! And besides, when do you plan to do this anyway?"

"Tomorrow!" Adam said confidently. What- but. HOW?!

"No. Now way! And... why tomorrow?"

"David... it's Grad Dance/ Ceremony tomorrow! It's the perfect time!" I- I had totally forgotten! Tomorrow was the date I was suppose to graduate! Graduate into high school, take that one big leap into growing up. But... I wouldn't be able to. Not with this health. And maybe not ever. A tear slowly fell down my cheek, but I rushed to wipe it away.

"What if 236 isn't graduating?" I asked.

"Adam, it's ELMSVILLE HIGH'S graduation. Remember? Everyone comes. Students, parents, siblings, cousins, best friends, enemies. You name it. Everyone we know will be there!" Adam said, excited. He was right.
