Ami's pov*
I had become good friends with everyone at the tavern except I do have to say King is definitely my BEST friend.
King would tell me about Diane over and over again and he would listen to me fawn over Ban. We would sit in the grass outside the tavern and just gaze at the stars.
Back in the tavern, I had just tripped over someone's foot. The 3 cups of ale on my tray went up and hit the ceiling before falling back down on me. By that time I was done serving for the night.
I waltzed over to the bar and Ban sat down in the stool next to me. I could feel my face turn into a bright red tomato. I grabbed the tray I dropped earlier and started to fan myself trying to get rid of the heat rising to my cheeks.
To my surprise Ban didn't even notice. He did send some ale my way though.
"I say we have a contest on who can drink more."
I wasn't sure if this was a great idea...but I couldn't say no to Ban...
After about 4 drinks we were both laughing and having a good time. We hadn't stopped laughing for a while but when the silence came I couldn't help but squeal when Ban flashed me his toothy grin.
"Ami I have to tell you something. You're a funny and amazing girl..."
I could feel my heart beat faster and louder. The butterflies in my stomach were going crazy.
"...but I can't be with you like you want. My heart belongs to another no matter how much I try, my heart still wants Elaine."
I swear I could hear my heart shatter at that moment like glass crashing to the ground. I felt hurt and embarrassed. I wasn't going to let him know this though.
Ban was not my prince.
"Ami, are you okay?"
He broke me from my thoughts and somewhat angered me with his question. I'm sure he knew the answer what did he want me to say? Oh yeah I'm feeling like I'm on cloud 9 at this moment. Idiot.
"Psh, I'm fine Ban. I just want us to be good friends. It would have never worked between us anyways." I gave him my best smile.
"I'm glad we understand each other. Now back to this ale, it's not gonna drink itself!"
I had to tell King.
After 30 minutes of explaining my heart break to king, he assures me Ban was definitely not the one for me. I went to bed knowing my prince is still out there.
*time skip to the fight festival*
King helped me convince Meliodas to let me fight in the festival.
We all got up on to the stage, there were big men left and right.
"Who invited a little girl?" "I'd like to take her home as a prize."
I was ready to knock these pigs off the stage. Suddenly before my fists could make an impact to anyone's face, a blonde man threw the two pigs to the ground. He turned around and I expected him to knock me out but he just smirked.
I guess he seemed pretty princely. I was so distracted by my thoughts that I didn't see a big guy come up and just push me down. I was out of the fight festival.
*time skip*
Come to find out the blonde cutey was a holy knight. I couldn't even stand to look at the guy anymore.
Elizabeth was captured by a masked woman.
Gowther joined the group and something has been bothering King so much that he barely said two words to me. It bothered me more than anything. I never realized how much time we actually did spend together until it was gone....
