Sighing, I stood next to Caleb as the group had finally got the last people in the graves and buried. There was this dark and saddening atmosphere that had set in over the group. It was not something that I'd welcome with open arms into the group but it wasn't my choice. My gaze went around the group before they locked on Dale for a moment as he followed Rick and Shane out into the woods.
I look back to Caleb, fiddling with my hands. "Do you think this was a good call?" I asked him as we sat down by the fire pit, making Caleb turn and look to me. He pushed back his golden locks and tilted his head a bit.
Sometimes it amazes me that he's been through so much but looks like he was born yesterday. It's a skill that he's always had, like a puppy, but a killer puppy. "About what?" He asked and I looked down to the floor for a moment before looking back up at him.
I pause for a moment, choosing my words carefully. "Joining this group," I say, making him look at me as though I've grown another head. Like I was crazy. I probably am crazy to even doubt our decision, my own decision to come here and trust these people.
Caleb nods, "I think we made a good call." He tells me, turning and pressing a kiss to my forehead. "This is our family." He adds, making me smile and laugh a bit. I leaned my head on his shoulder and closed my eyes for a moment. Soon enough Caleb nudges me and I open my eyes and look at Shane and Rick as they walk towards our little huddle, Dale not too far behind.
Shane looks shaken up about something, though the look in his eyes is something that I've seen far too much. "I've uh. . .I've been thinking about Rick's plan." Shane begins, "Now look, there have been no guarantees either way. I'll be the first one to admit that. I've known this man a long time, I trust his instincts. I say the most important thing here is we need to stay together. So those of you that agree, we leave first thing in the morning. Okay?" We all nod and everyone begins to separate, going off and doing their own things and packing up.

Death is something that I would think I'd be used to, that we'd all be used to. But no one's ever used to death. "How's he doin'?" I asked Rick after Jacqui made the RV stop because of Jim's condition. We were maybe halfway there and facing the fact that he wasn't doing good.
Rick looks to me, the look on his face giving me the answer. "Not good. He wants to be left behind." Rick says and I let out a sigh.
I pat his shoulder. "Not so easy being the leader huh?" I asked, making him smile a bit, shaking his head. We ended up placing Jim against a tree a bit away from the roads and said our farewells.
All I heard was Shane. "Just in case you need to opt out." Shane hand him a knife only to get it back.
Everyone started to go back into the vehicles. "Goodbye Jim, may we meet again," I say running back to the truck to see Caleb sitting in the driver seat, ready to go.
That was one of our own that we personally had to leave behind, it never gets easier. "Try to get some sleep Lune. It's a long drive." He said once I was bucked in and we were off on the road again. I just smiled and leaned my head on the window. Behind me Jessica was fast asleep, her head lulled to the side against the window like me.

I guess I fell asleep in the car because I woke up to Caleb tapping my shoulder. "Luna." Caleb's voice called, making me slowly open my eyes and look at him, groaning as sleep tried to pull at me again. I look out to see the large building. I nod and get out, grabbing my backpack. The moment we were out the smell of death hit like a brick.
I covered my face with my bandana to block out the smell. We ran as quick as we could, Caleb behind me with Jess in his arms, to the building. Every now and then he gave me a light push to keep going. We finally got to the front of the building. Rick slammed on the large metal door. "Walkers!" Daryl yelled making me turn to see the walkers that we're coming back to life around us.
Shane started to pull Rick who was yelling to the camera, that I swear I saw move like Rick was saying. I grabbed Rick's arm and tried to help Shane get him back from the door. "Rick! We gotta go!" I yelled at him, pulling on his arm. "They're not gonna let us in," I tell him, yanking his arm.
In a swift motion, Rick jerked back, elbowing me in the nose. I let go of him, stumbling back as he broke from Shane's hold and yelled at the camera before Shane got him to turn around. I held my hand to my nose, the metallic smell filling my nose.
Caleb placed his hand on my shoulder, pulling me back with him, Jess in his other arm. The group turned and we started to make our way towards the cars, coming to a stop at the sound of a high pitched squealing that came from behind us followed by a bright, white, light coming from the doorway.
Rick raced inside and the rest of the group followed in after him. I looked to Caleb, who nods and followed after him. It took a moment for my eyes to adjust, but when they did the group stood ahead of me. An awkward looking doctor stood at the front of the room, a nice looking gun in his hands. "Anyone bit?" The doctor yelled, making everyone look to him.
I looked to Rick, waiting for him to speak up. "One of our group was, he didn't make it," Rick said, looking down for a moment then back to the doctor.
Caleb had his hand still on my shoulder while I bled, pressing a bandana that Caleb gave me to my nose. "Then why is she bleeding?" The man asked, looking at me with his gun pointed.
Shane and Caleb moved to stand in front of me. "She ain't bit," Caleb growled. "She's got a bloody nose." He says and Shane nods his head.
The doctor paused for a moment, staring at us all. "You all take a blood test, that's the price of admission." He says to us.
I shift a bit at the thought of it. Rick looked around at us, his eyes darted back to the door for a moment in thought. "We can do that."
