Prolouge
I struggled to open my eyes. Everything hurt. The world seemed to be spinning out of its orbit. Weird. I don't think it's supposed to be doing that. Sweat dotted my forehead and I reached to wipe it away, only to find my hands tied behind me, as were my feet. The chair I was siting on was made out of wood. I was taught at a very young age how to escape this trap. I scanned my surroudings. The walls were a yellowish color, that had once been white. The ceiling was high above me, aproximately 200 ft. Stainless tables stood next to the far wall, containing knives, guns and other weapons I could not identify. There were steel doors on the opposite side as well.
I turned my hands around and did the trick I was thought. Easy. I bent over to remove the rope from my feet. I stood up and stretched. Walking quietly to the table, I picked a dagger and slipped it in my boot. I grabbed two pistols and attached it to the both sides of my belt. Lastly, I grabbed an AK-47.
After I got suited up, I ran towards the door, inspecting it. The tall steel door was heavy, the knob was easy to open, no lock or riddle to solve or anything. How unusual.
Carefully, I opened the door.
"Tsk tsk tsk. I wouldn't do that if I were you, Agent Snow." I turned around to see Victoria standing there. With her, a few dozen of her guards stood.
"And why not?" I ask, my hand creeping to the AK-47 on my shoulder, aiming it at her heart.
"You wouldn't want your poor boyfriend to die, would you?" She shook her head, a viscious smile on her hideous face.
"No," I breathed. " You wouldn't."
"Oh yes, my dear. I will." She raises her hand, motioning for someone to come forward. "Luke," she called.
The guards parted, two stepping forward dragging an unconcious blond boy in a tux between them. My heart stopped.
"One move, the guards will snap his head. Now, put your weapons down and tell me where it is." Victoria commanded.
I put down the guns, raising my hand in surrender. My head was spinning.
"Come forward, dear." She said.
I causiously moved forward, stopping a few feet before them. A few gurads stepped towards me, grabbing my arms an twisting it behind me. I yelped in pain. One guard behind me, kicked me behind my legs, making me kneel down in front of Luke. His once spotless white tux was ruined. His sleeves were torn, leaving his arms bare, scratched and dotted with blood. His angelic face was bruised and he had a cut across his cheek. His hair was messy and his white dress shirt was stained wth blood. He was missing a shoe.
"Tell me where it is," Victoria stood infront of me. "Or he," she said, pointing at Luke. "dies."
I hesitated. I had never failed a mission. Never. I had always kept people safe. I would do everything I can to keep the person safe. Even if it meant giving up my life. But that wasn't the choice here. It was between the information and the person I was to keep safe. I couldn't let him die. Yeah, I hated him at first but things changed between us. I'd never met a guy like him. He understood what I felt and he wouldn't judge me or run away from me. I had never met people my age and he was the first one. The first one who made me feel something...different. I couldn't let him go.
"Did you not hear me?" Victoria screamed. "Very well," She decided. "Cut her head off. She is of no use to me."
One guard stepped forward, a sword in hand. Another guard pulled my hair back, making me look up. I opened my mouth to speak, but I was interrupted.
"No," A voice croaked.
I looked between Victoria's long legs and saw Luke. His eyes were open, blue irises stared at me. How I would have loved to get lost in them.
"Don't," He said, looking up at Victoria, who stood between us. "It's me you want. I know where it is. Let her go."
"Luke, no! You'll die." I cried.
He looked at me, his gaze never wavered.
"I'd rather die if it means living without you," He exhaled, giving me a solemn smile.
I shook my head no. Tears were streaming down my face. "No, Luke, please." I begged.
"Well, that is so sweet." Victoria said. "But I have already decided."
We both looked up at her.
"You, will die."
