"I assume we all know who Victoria is," William said from the front of the room, motioning towards the picture of a blonde, skinny woman, known as Victoria Welsh.
Of course we knew who she is. Anyone who doesn't isn't worthy to be here. She is one of earth's most evil and destructive human beings. She once tried to blow up a hospital full of mentally illed people, but we stopped her before she could. She escaped from the highly secured prison she was kept in. Now, free to do anything she wants until we find her, who knows what she would do.
"If you do not, please let me know." He continued.
Down the long table, Brandon shyly raised his hand. Of course. Brandon was this new intern they hired, who was middle aged and kinda stupid. I do not know why they hired him but maybe we were running down on employees.
William shook his head disapprovingly. His salt and pepper hair moving with his head.
"Jameson, I'm assigning you to teach Brandon everything he should know," William said, looking at James. Poor guy. He was one of the people who were like family to me. He was always there from the moment I started here. He was like a father to me. He looked at me from across the table and I gave him a sympathetic smile.
"Yes, sir." He replied.
"Okay," William continued. "Continuing, we have found out of her whereabouts. The satellite has picked up the tracker we put on her."
The screen changed, showing the map of Australia.
"She was last tracked in Melbourne, our Australian base has given us classified information, which will only be revealed to a few top agents." William explained.
"Agent Jameson and Agent Snow," He said. "Please remain. The rest, continue on with your work." The others stood up and left both of us.
In front of the wooden walls, steel once were brought down. Standard procedure. The door was covered as well.
"Agent Snow, I know you have never got the chance to go to school. I know not if you want to but if you do, this is your lucky day." William explained to me.
I never really thought about school, just this once I wondered what it would be like and what I would have been missing.
"Victoria has built her own army of guards, to kidnap this boy," The screen showed a picture of a handsome boy about 16, my age. His hair was blond and messy, he had an amazing smile. He wore all black, making him look dangerous.
"His name is Luke Hemmings. You are to keep an eye on him and keep Victoria away from him. This mission will go on for as long as we capture Victoria once more, and for good this time. Jameson will be there with you, playing the role of your father. Your house will be right across from the boy's so it won't be hard. Understood?" William said.
I nodded. "Understood, sir."
"Good. You leave tonight, school starts the day after tomorow. I know you can do this, Agent Snow, you have handled far worse. I bid you goodluck. You may go." He dismissed us.
We gave him our salutes and promises then left the room. The steel walls slid back up, and the door automatically opened. Jameson and I walked out.
"Do you have any information about the boy?" I asked.
James nodded, opening a folder.
"His name is Luke Robert Hemmings. 16. Bad ass. Chick magnet. Spoiled brat," He looked at me at that, knowing I hate spoiled brats. I wrinkled my nose. I dislike him already.
"Rich kid. Goes to a snotty rich kid's school. Plays guitar. Science geek." He smiled at me.
"What?" I demanded.
"Nothing." He replied, trying hard not to smile.
"And that classifies as useful info?"
"Maybe, to you," he muttered, adding a chuckle.
"I heard that."
"I know," He said. "Now why don't you run to your room and pack your things?"
"Fine," I said, walking towards the elevators. The floor was empty since this was the meeting hall. My room was located at the penthouse, along with 3 other agent's. I pressed the button and the elevator was silent, leaving me to my thoughts.
How do I keep an eye on him? Do I befriend him? Or am I supposed to be some creepy stalker? Nah, I prefer the first one. But what do I say? I've never met people my age? I've never had a friend. I never went to school. What classes will I have to take? Same as him, probably.
I went inside my spacious room. The walls were painted sky blue. There was a big bookshelf on the wall beside the window. My queen-size bed with a white duvet sat in the middle of the room. My closet, aong with the bathroom was on the far wall. There was my laptop, tv and speakers on the front of the bed. I had a nice view of the the city whenever I sat on the window seat.
Sighing, I grabbed a large black luggage and went to my closet. I put on my tight black suits, a few pairs of black skinny jeans, black shirts, plain white shirts, jeans, a few leather jackets, a jean vest, my black combat boots, converse, and supras. I included a beanie and my accsesories. I added sweatpants and fitted tank tops. My pyjamas went in there as well. I also put my weapons along with everything. A few daggers and pistols. I walked over to my shelf and grabbed a few books to bring.
I zipped up the bag, and once I was done, I was already sweaty. I decided to take a shower. The heater was heaven. I felt very relaxed and all. After washing the shampoo and soap out, I dried myself with a towel. I grabbed the blower and blow-dried my long, dark and frizzy hair. Looking at the mirror, a pale girl stared back at me. With dark, thick hair and blue-green eyes. I wasn't skinny, but I wasn't fat either. Anyone who ever said I was, had better shut up.
After drying my hair, I pulled it back into a dutch braid down my back. With a towel, wrapped around my body, I put on my underwear, then black jeans and an off-white knitted sweater. I put on my black converse and grabbed my black backpack containing some food, water, a dagger and a Glock 18, a clean shirt and jeans, a book, and my phone along with my headphones. I grabbed my guitar case.
Walking out the door with my things, I found Jameson waiting for me. He wore a black shirt along with black jeans. I never asked why he didn't have a girlfriend, probably too busy babysiting me.
"Hey, Adrianne," He said. "Ready?"
I nodded.
"Let's get this over with."
