"Adrianne, wake up. You don't want to be late," James shook me awake.
I rubbed the sleep from my eyes. The sunlight seeped through the curtains.
"What time is it?" I asked, my voice raspy.
"It's 7am. The bus will be here in a half hour."
"Oh, okay. I'd best be ready then." I walked towards the bathroom to take a shower. I straightened my hair, leaving it down. I walked in my closet to decide on what to wear. My clothes were never colorful, as colorful clothes attract attention. I decided on black skinny jeans, a fitting white shirt and a short black leather jacket and for my shoes, I chose white supras. I grabbed my black leather backpack and checked my things. Weapons, check. First aid kit, check. Extra shirt and books, check. I slung it over a shoulder then went down stairs to eat breakfast. James was on his laptop, doing something I did not question. I made myself a bowl of cereal and ate it quickly.
"I gotta go, don't want to miss the bus." I said, walking towards the door.
"Be safe. Keep him safe." He reminded me.
I nodded and headed out. Across the street I see Luke walking out to the car, his driver waiting for him with the door open. He wore a blank expression as if everything around him was boring. He wore a black shirt, black skinny jeans and black vans. His hair was hidden under a gray beanie, headphones hung around his neck and a backpack over his shoulder.
His gaze left the ground and met mine. He smirked as if he was used to having people stare at him. I hate him already. Instinctively, I looked away and started towards the bus stop. A few kids were waiting as well. I stood behind them, trying not to get any attention to myself.
The bus finally came, thus ending the awkwardness I felt. I climbed in after the kids in front of me. It was so noisy I couldn't hear anything. A foot stuck out and tried to trip me, but I quickly sidestepped and looked up to see a blonde cheerleader giving me a glare. I didn't know what I did to her and how to respond so I just sat in the very back of the bus. It was a rather bumpy and uncomfortable ride to school. Each bump making me flinch. I've always been told that my instincts were sharp and I was quick. It really helped my being a spy. I was trained to move swiftly and quietly.
The bus lurched forward and halted to a stop. I held on to my backpack and stood up, waiting for everyone infront to get out first. It was too pushy and crowded so I thought it'd be best to wait till they're gone. Once everyone was out, it was my turn. I thanked the bus driver and he gave me a kind smile.
Shrugging my backpack on, I walked towards the entrance. There were groups of kids loitering by the door. I enter the school, my keeping my eyes on the floor. I felt eyes on me and a few whispers which I ignored. I went to the office to get my schedule and ask for directions. She lazily handed me my papers whilst chewing gum. I thanked her then headed to my first class which was homeroom. I did not know what homeroom is but then I've never gone to school. I guess it's time to find out.
The hallways were crowded and I moved from side to side, avoiding people's touches. The room was already croweded but tere were a few vacant seats. I decided on a chair in the back so that I wouldn't be called out. I put my backpack down, but still close to me. I took my book out and got lost in it. A backpack landon my my table with a thud. I looked up to see the blonde bloke I was to keep an eye on.
"Get out." Luke demanded.
"Excuse me?" I ask, raising an eyebrow.
"That," He said, pointing to my seat. "Is my seat."
"I got here first," I reply.
"Well that seat is still mine, now stand up and find another." He said rather rudely.
