His lips were so soft. He caressed my cheek gently, as if he was afraid to break something so fragile. His other hand found its way to the back of my head, tangling itself in my hair and pulling me closer. I wrapped my arms around his neck and hugged him tightly. The world disappeared as we kissed and it felt like we were the only people left. The butterflies in my stomach were swarming in my stomach and I shivered under his touch.

We pulled back, breathless. Our foreheads touched and we were breathing heavily. My arms were still wrapped around his neck, his arms were hugging me tightly. I could stay like this forever.

In his arms, I feel safe.

"Luke," I whispered.

"Yeah?"

"What about our project?" I asked, smiling.

The corners of his mouth turned up into a smile. "Don't worry, I'll help. I'm not that lazy, you know? I actually love science."

I know. I thought.

"Really?" I questioned and he nodded. "Is Luke Hemmings actually a nerd?" I laughed.

"Yeah. It's a shocker, isn't it? The asshole loves science and books. Well there's an interesting plot twist." He tapped the tip of my nose.

"I've read a story like that once," I say once we were laying down on the cloth.

"Tell me about the story," Luke said, his arm around me, his hands playing idly with my hair.

"This girl was going to London because her brother had asked for her presence but she ended up being held captive by these witches," I started.

"Witches?" Luke asked, twirling a strand of my hair in his hand.

I nodded. "Then a few months later, a guy comes to her rescue and takes her away. The girl was torn between her savior and his best friend. The boy wouldn't let himself love her. He turns out to be a fan of books, like the girl. She's human and he's a shadowhunter. They weren't really supposed to be together but somehow, against all odds, they live happily ever after."

"So they're like us, then?" Luke asked.

"Like us?" I asked, turning my head towards him.

"Yeah," He said, looking up at the stars. "I wouldn't let myself fall for you at first, the reason why I was a jerk. And we both like books. That counts. Though I didn't save you from anything."

"You saved me from Jacob, remember?" I reply.

"Maybe we are," I say after a few moments as I smile up at the sky.

The stars have already come up and the moon was shining in its full form. I always did love the sky. Whether it was day or night, I always found it beautiful.

I felt eyes on me and I turned my head towards Luke. His blue orbs were solemnly on me. The moon casting its light on him, making him seem like he was glowing. He looked like an angel. A scowling angel at that.

"Is this the part where you tell me you're a werewolf and I'm your mate, but you have to kill me?" I whisper, faking a terrified look.

"I would, but it's become far too interesting for that," His face was serious but his eyes held an amused expression.

"Could you maybe not kill me just yet?"

"Don't worry, I won't," He replies. I was enjoying our little game. "Besides, there is this question that I've been dying to ask you." His expression turned serious.

"What is it?" I ask.

"Will yo-"

"Excuse me, sir," A guard interrupted. "But you have get inside. It is already 11pm."
