(Aleks P.O.V)
1:32 Max's House
After telling Max about my whole first week of school, all he could do was repeat the word, Wow. Hearing myself explain the ordeal a loud felt even more weird than when it actually happened. I could only imagine a ton of things Max was thinking.
He finally spoke, "Well, I'm glad my first week of school wasn't that complicated."
I sighed. "Right?" I let out a slight breath. I can't believe Eddie would do something like that. I never thought I would feel betrayed by anyone in my life.
"What about school now?" Max interrupted my depression. "How are you going to get there now?"
The question surprised me, concluding that I didn't think that far ahead. There goes another mistake.
"I guess I'll-" I stopped. I wasn't sure of an excuse I could make up that would sound convincing. Instead, I hung my head in depression.
Max laughed, "If you really don't have anyone else to take you, I guess I can."
I raised my head slowly. "What?"
"I have a lot of time on my hands, so I decided that I would take you to school. Only because you have no one else and your only means of transportation was ruined by you."
It sounded more like he was verbally punishing me for my mistakes, but I was more than grateful to accept. I nodded proudly, "Thanks Max. Suddenly it feels like the people I meet are helping me the most. It would be awesome if you could do so."
"It's even more convenient since we are neighbors and all." He stood up, "Well thanks for helping me out."
I laughed, "No, thank you for everything so far." I headed for the door feeling accomplished, until my pocket began to vibrate. I reached down into my pocket and read the caller i.d., Eddie.
His name only made me furious. I guess I should give him back this cellphone. Should I answer? After debating over the next few vibrations, I answered the cellphone.
"What?" I managed a voice that would give him the message that I was angry.
"Where the hell are you?!" He yelled, making my ear ring in the process. I lifted the phone away, surprised. What does he mean by that? Was he worried?
"Why would you like to know?" I questioned. I could hear him laugh, except it wasn't his usual happy laugh.
"Really? Is that really the best you could manage? I've been searching for you all over the place! So, where the hell are you?!"
My throat began to burn slightly. I can't let him win again. Why is he saying these things?!
"Shut up! I'm at home and I don't need you anymore. The only reason we were around each other is because I only needed you to take me to school and back home. Other than that, it's unnecessary for us to even breathe each other's air!! My new friend picked me up from that area and took me home! He knows about how much of a creep you are and agreed to be my transportation for now on! And I'll bring your cellphone back to you on Monday so you can get the money back! So leave me alone!!"
I ran out of breath as I finished my argument. I began to breathe heavily. The words I spoke sounded like a different language as I realized how fast I was speaking. The other side of the cellphone was silent. I was waiting for a response, now that he knows how I feel about him now.
"Then see you Monday." He hung up.
His words made me furious. What? Is that all?! I felt as if I lost a battle to an opponent who wasn't even trying. My face burned aggressively. I wasn't sure of an appropriate reaction that would help my case. Instead, I held the phone onto my ear for a while longer. Eddie, you are now on my revenge list.
