(Aleks P.O.V)
2:03 P.M. Colorado Market
Why is he here? Is he everywhere I go now?
My eyes met a pair of dark eyes that smiled as they approached closer. I prepared for the worst as he got closer. I would have walked away, but my feet seemed to have been glued to the floor. I watched as the distance between us shortened and shortened; only causing my brain to become a jumbled mess of thoughts.
When he was close enough, I spoke. "What are you doing here?"
James responded sarcastically. "Oh, I'm sorry. Do you own this place? I'm here to get food asshole." I couldn't tell if he was angry or just being a douche like always.
He continued as I debated over the issue. "Why the hell are you stalking me now?"
I felt my eyes widened. "Stalking?! You? You are the last person I'd ever want to be around. I don't know what's your problem with me, but it's really annoying!"
His expression shown no response. "Maybe it's because I dislike you, and you're an annoying waste of space. Ever since you came into the picture, nothing has been done right."
What? Was all my thoughts could managed.
I waited for him to continue. "Eddie is more focused on you, than he is with his actual friends. I don't know what you did to him, but just fuck off."
Eddie thinks about me? I blushed.
I returned a furious stare despite my blushing. "It's not like I made him focus on me! If you want me out of the picture, then that just won't happen!"
Now Jame's face seemed angered. This was the first time I've ever seen his face with emotion; though it was out of anger towards me.
"So basically, you don't give a fuck about ruining his life?" His eyes scanned me from head to toe. "People like you really makes me sick."
I was going to respond, but I was interrupted with a flash of darkness and a clap that seemed to send goosebumps throughout my skin. The market's light went out at the sound of thunder booming. It seemed like a normal day this morning. I remembered Max's unusual expression and questions. He was trying to warn me about a storm? I'm really an idiot.
I reminded myself, that I was in an abyss of darkness. Everything was pitch black, not a sign of light anywhere. I extended my arms forward, and reached out for something solid. In my hands, I grasp a soft fabric. I pulled in close on to the fabric, I realized it was a jacket. Suddenly a small light appeared and was focused directly into my face; blinding me slightly.
"What the hell are you doing?" James' voice was closer than before. The light traveled from my face then to my hands and lastly to James' menacing face. He used his cellphone screen for light.
Realizing the connection, I released my grip. "Sorry! I just can't see."
"No one can see as of now dumb ass." James began to dial numbers into his phone.
I remembereed the cellphone I always carry in my jeans pocket. I reached for it and shined light on James.
He winced as he spoke to the person on the other end of the cellphone. "Hey, Eddie, I'm at the market and I think I'm trapped." The mention of Eddie fastened my heartbeat.
"What the fuck?" He continued. "You're seriously going to make me wait?! I wouldn't even be out here if it wasn't for you." James is like that to everyone, not me specifically? I was relieved, somewhat.
