(Aleks P.O.V)

(Sunday) 12:22 P.M. Arcade Room

I was at the mall today with Seamus and Tiffany. I was spreading the news about the party that was now going to be held at a skating rink. Max picked the skating rink because he said his friends from college would always bug him about going but he never had much spare time to do so.

Inside the arcade, we were seated at a table with a whole pepperoni pizza in between us.

"A Halloween party?!" Tiffany beamed when I told her.

I nodded, taking a slice a pizza. "I kind of forced the idea on Max but he said it could be fun. He said any of my friends could attend so I'm inviting you guys."

"Aleks you're awesome!" she squealed. "I wonder what I should be. A witch or fairy? Ooh, how about a sexy tiger lady?"

"How about, none of the above?" Seamus scoffed.

"You're so rude." Tiffany smacked her lips at him.

Seamus ignored her gesture. "So, Aleks, how is that college friend of yours? You two seem really close."

I didn't think much about it; though it was true. Max sort of became a part of my daily life after we first met. "I guess we are. I mean, we live next to each other and we both work at the same place. It's almost like I don't have a choice but to be friends with him."

"Yeah, but now he's allowing you to invite your friends to a college party? I think you two are becoming really close."

I wasn't sure what Seamus meant by that, so I didn't give the comment much attention.

"I wonder if I'll be able to score a college babe." Tiffany thought aloud between bites of her pizza.

"What do you two do daily?" Seamus continued.

"Live?" I spoke blankly, still unsure what he meant.

"Obviously," he scoffed. "I mean. Is it possible that you two are-, you know?"

You know? I thought.

Tiffany caught on to whatever it was I was missing. "I didn't think about it that way. Are you two-, you know?"

"What?" I asked, feeling as if I was missing out on an inside joke. "I know what? Are you guys speaking in code now?"

I watched as the two looked at each other; as if planning their next response. At this point I began to feel as if I was being interrogated.

"Do you ever share a meal or two?" Tiffany asked first.

"Yeah, a ton because we work together and sometimes share the same break time."

"Do you two contact each other daily?" Seamus asked second.

"Of course. I think that's the point of friendship." My responses were pure yet I felt as if they were hinting at something otherwise.

"Does he stare at you differently?" Tiffany asked.

Stare at me differently? I thought, I heard that before. I thought back to where I first heard the question or if it related to something I heard in the past. I was then reminded of when James and I met in the library and the advice he shared with me: The only way I could figure out if someone likes me, is by observing their features. Both the question and advice shared a certain likeliness, I realized.

Do they mean.., I blushed.  "You two think Max and I are dating?" Even though I asked the question, hearing it aloud only made me redden even more. The thought of Max and I dating never crossed my mind until now and the more I thought about it, the more I realized how much Max and I can speak so comfortably with each other. Almost as if we were..dating.
