Now That I Know?

(Aleks P.O.V)

3:14 P.M. Guy's Locker Room

"What?" Kevin questioned.

I chose my words carefully.

"I was wondering if you could tell me about Eddie when you first met him?" I bit my lip, "Specifically I want to know about his relationship history."

Kevin gave me the most serious look I've ever seen him manage.

"Why do you want to know?" His voice deepened, "What does that have to do with you?"

I felt as if the tension around us begin to rise so suddenly.

I swallowed, "I just want to prove my suspicions." His features became even cold, his lips were thin. 

Is he fighting back something? 

"You want to know about that huh?" He began, "Well then, let's start by saying he was a prideful good for nothing. He dated for fun and I was always there to clean up his mess."

The words were exactly what I needed, but I felt bad for using Kevin's anger for my own purpose.

He looked down.

"I considered him my best friend, but he betrayed my trust. It may have been a simple promise, but I expected him to keep it." His eyes glinted over to mine. "I guess you know about how he violated Anthony?"

There was no use in lying, I nodded. 

He laughed, "So, what do you think of him now? You know the truth about him, do you think he's even worth it?"

His words were bitter. I felt even more worse now that I knew the truth, and a hint of my sympathy was for Eddie. I have to do something about it..

I nodded, "Yeah, I know the truth. But you don't."

His eyebrow rose after receiving such peculiar news; I expected that reaction.

"Dude, you've only been here for 2 days, and you're trying to tell me that I don't know the truth about this situation? What are you on?"

I also expected that response.

I took in a deep breath.

"Eddie didn't have sex with Anthony, Anthony made it up; he was mad when Eddie refused him so he retaliated by spreading lies and ruining your friendship with Eddie." The words felt like they flew out of my mouth all at once.

Kevin took my words in.

"So Eddie is trying to fool you huh?"

I was suddenly angry. How could he be so oblivious? Can't he look from both ends of the story first?! I stepped closer.

"Kevin, it's not a lie! Eddie wouldn't break a promise after he knew how much you put up with his mistakes. You changed his ways and they were ruined by a little lie!"

Kevin spoke furiously, "How can you tell me if you weren't even there?! You don't know anything about it?!" 

"Well apparently I know more than you! Besides, you weren't even there!"

Kevin stepped closer, hinting at a possible quarrel, but I didn't back down. Staring at Kevin's unsure features, I began to think that there was something I was missing. This wasn't the exact moment to be lost in my thoughts though. I clenched my fist prepared for a fight until Eddie's voice interrupted.

"That's enough you two!"

I was surprised to see Eddie standing at the entry of the locker room. I looked at the ground, knowing as if it wasn't my place to even argue over his problems.
