You awoke in the middle of a library, quickly remembering where you were. You recalled what had happened the night before, right before breaking into tears again. You tried to calm down, breathing heavily and sitting up. "Why me?" You said aloud, "Out of all people, why me?" You heard the sound of paws trot towards you. Shade came up to you, the gem on his collar glowing. "Rachel?" Shade spoke.

"Wha...?!" You said surprised, looking the dog straight in the eye "H-how?!"
"Remember what Charred said? That the collar makes me able to communicate with you?"
You remembered, now understanding what he had meant. "I thought h-he meant something e-else..." You stuttered. "Well, you thought wrong." Shade replied, "Besides, why are you so surprised? This is a MAGIC world after all." You sighed, realizing he was right. "Well, why did you come to me?" You asked the dog. He may have been mostly a pup but he was almost an adult in his years. "I came to you because you're my master, and something was wrong. Dogs can sense those kind of things, you know."

He said. "Yes, I know." You said, "But why would you come to me now?"
"Because I know the way out of here." He said, his tone serious. "R-really?!" You said excitedly, "Let's go!" At the same moment you heard heavy footsteps. 'Oh no...' You thought just as the dark colored reptile emerged into the room. He snatched you into his claws, bringing you to his room. Shade tried to follow, but being unable to catch up. The door shut in the pup's face as the dragon set you down. 'What is he going to do this time...' You thought, knowing it couldn't be good.
"Look... Rachel..." He said to you, "I'm sorry. I'm really sorry about everything that happened last night. I overreacted. Will you forgive me... Please?" He begged, his eyes fixed on you. You heard scratching at the door, knowing who it was. "Don't forgive him!" You heard the black-and-brown dog yelp. "He'll only betray you! Just run!" You thought for a moment, realizing that if you tried to run he would easily catch up to you. "I-I... I forgive you." You said, quickly regretting your decision.

'What if he keeps me here forever? It will never be the same after this anyways... Why should I bother?' Your thought were awoken as his long black-and-gray tail wrapped around you, lifting you off the ground. "I think it's time you knew the truth about me..." He said, carrying you back to the library. "I never got to show you what I planned." You squirmed a bit in his grip, soon giving up as he was too strong.

"I suppose you want to be freed?" He chuckled, "I'll let you go after you see this, alright?" You nodded, knowing you had no other choice. "Good." He walked inside the brightly-lit room. Your head lowered, thinking you had made a terrible mistake. 'I should have listened to Shade...' You thought. regretting your decision. 'Should have listened...' Your thoughts were suddenly interrupted by your feet hitting the cold marble floor. He unwrapped his tail from your body, soon grabbing onto the collar of your torn shirt. "Now listen, if you try to run, I will capture you again and we will have to do this all over again. Understand?" He said, making himself clear.

He opened the large wooden box in the center of the room. Inside, was a sword, is blade made of a purple material. The handle was made of gold, with a ruby in the center. "Why w-would I run from this?" You asked.
"It's not this that you would run from..." He said, "It's this." He pulled out two horns and a pair of wings. "Wha....?" You said in shock.
"I know, you're confused. But... You won't be soon. You will be wearing these... In your training. It will help you with magic." He said, "With the extra weight, you will be able to fight easily when it comes to battle." You were too shocked to mutter anything other than, "They're amazing..."

Hey guys! That was a longer chapter than normal :D sorry for it taking so long! Also here's a little thing to vote on: What color should the wings be? Most votes will win!
