Larissa needed to get her mind off Ambrose. She didn't wanna make the same mistake she made as a teenager. He didn't recognize her. It hurt a little. Just showed that he never cared about her at all. She cared so much. She once cried over him. She had been genuinely in love with him. It was more than just lust or infatuation, it actually was love. She endured his insults. Some she deserved, some were uncalled for. She overlooked all his flaws. Love is blind.

~ flashback ~

"Ambrose I love you"
"I bet you do" he said it in a snarky manner. "Is that all you're gonna say" she sounded so desperate. A slave of her own heart. "I don't love you. I'm crazy about you my princess." He held her in his arms. She felt so happy.
The relationship she was in was so unhealthy and toxic because it was a one sided relationship, Larissa didn't know that. Ambrose acted so loving. He always managed to brighten her day and made her feel so special. But the terrible truth was that he was stringing her along.
Larissa was the most reserved and disciplined girl in school. Every boy wanted a piece of her. Ambrose had bet for 20 bucks that he could take away Larissa's virginity in less than 6 months. The guys accepted. Each one of them would give him twenty dollars if he succeeded. If he failed he had to pay each one of them twenty dollars.
Larissa fell for his charm, hook, line and sinker. He seduced her. She wanted to impress him. She thought he'd love her more. She was dead wrong.

~ one week after losing her virginity to him~

She knocked on his door. And a half naked Cindy opened the door. Behind her was Ambrose. He wasn't wearing his shirt. He had been cheating on her with her best friend. She had a snarky look on her face. With friends like that who needs enemies. She was devastated. Ambrose kissed Cindy passionately in front of his girlfriend Larissa. Hurting her made him feel good. It made him feel like he was in control of her feelings and life. He knew she was crazy about him. So he used it against her. "Like what you see?" He asked her sarcastically. "Why Ambrose? I thought you loved me. Don't you love me?"
"I don't. I never did.But I did enjoy the time we spent together, uhmmm... That's a lie. I didn't, honestly. I've had better. On a scale of one to ten, your a 1.5 sorry love."
"Ambrose I still love you. We can work things out. I'm pregnant" he wasn't touched.
"Well, have fun with that" he didn't care.
"That's all you've to say?"
"If you want money for an abortion I'll be more than happy to give you. No way I'm taking care of that weird thing growing inside you. I'm just not in the mood of being a father"
"Why are you doing this to me"
"Leave me alone Larissa. Go away. Get out of my life. Don't call or text me ever again. Stay away from me. You're really annoying me. I'm done with you. You're just a sad, pathetic, shy, insecure loser. Your whole life is a mistake. I'm way out of your league".
"Why are you being so harsh?" She couldn't hold back the tears anymore.
"Awww... You're crying? So sad. Ambrose is with me now sweetheart. Get a life!" Cindy had ready changed, for the worst. She was being really heartless. "
His words hurt her so badly. Her heart exploded into a million pieces, it was such a bloody mess. She felt so rejected and unloved. But it got even worse. At school people treated her differently. Her best friend had betrayed her. The love of her life had dumped her, in a very brutal way. She was pregnant. Everyone saw her as a slut. And she discovered that the real reason Ambrose has dated her was to actually win a bet. A bet he had made with his friends. He had scored a hundred dollars. Every guy was talking about it.
Ambrose had bet her for 20 bucks. She was beyond hurt. She was completely crushed. She wanted to die.

~ end of flashback ~

She wasn't gonna let anyone treat her that way ever again. She was stronger now and more self controlled. She was not that little confused teenage girl anymore. She had grown and matured.
