"Why can't you leave me alone? Stay away from me. How many times should I say it for you to get it through your thick skull" she was yelling at him. "Larissa please just give me a chance to explain" Ambrose pleaded with her. "Explain what?" Larissa was so fed up with Ambrose. "Why I acted the way I did" he tried to reason with her. He was failing dismally. "That's not rocket science. I know why you acted that way. You're were a selfish, inconsiderate, arrogant and insensitive jerk. You still are. Go away" Larissa was really upset. Her heart was still aching. It hadn't fully healed. "I'm really sorry Larissa, forgive me. I need you in my life. Ours kids need a father" she couldn't take it anymore. She slapped him across the face and slammed the door shut. Her kids where already in their rooms doing their homework. Lisa had taken them upstairs in case things got ugly. Ambrose knocked on the door countless times begging her to open. Larissa ignored him. She really didn't want him in her life. Seeing him brought back terrible memories. The name calling, the rejection. The things she had to go through. It had been a nightmare.
Ambrose waited, he couldn't leave just like that. He wanted to be a part of her life again. So so badly. He knocked again. No response. He waited for 45 minutes.
Larissa came out, hoping to find him gone. "You still here?" Larissa was genuinely surprised. The Ambrose she knew never begged for anything, never ever. Maybe he had changed. Maybe she was being too harsh. "Can I come in?" He asked politely. "Fine, just say what you want to say and then leave." He got in. Maybe she was finally warming up to him. "Larissa, I want us to work things out. I'm sorry for what I put you through. Just give me a chance to prove to you that I'm a changed man"
He sounded desperate. Larissa couldn't hold a grudge against him forever. He was after all the father of her kids. The father of her kids. The more she repeated the statement in her head, the more she realized that forgiving him was the only thing she could do for him.
