chapter 24: falling in love again

Larissa was so appalled by Ambrose. He chose to be with one of his many lovers instead of his own children. Who does that? She had almost given him a second chance but unfortunately for him Cindy had interrupted them. Cindy, she had been her friend once. Until the day she betrayed her. Oh well, it was all in the past now.
It was already 2230, she was feeling sleepy, she took her phone and went into her bedroom upstairs. She put on her nightdress and slipped into bed. She was so tired. She was about to close her eyes when her phone rang. It was Keith. Her heart skipped a bit. All of sudden she felt nervous. "Hello" she answered
"You've a very beautiful voice."that was the first thing he said to her.
"Thank you" she didn't know what else to say to him. Her face was as red as a tomato.
"I'm not holding a grudge against you Larissa." Keith could sense that she was tense. "Please loosen up. What happened is all in the past now"
"Okay" she was tongue tied. Why was she so tongue tied?
"Are you okay?"
"I'm fine just sleepy" that wasn't the reason why she was sounding weird.
"Oh.. Okay. I'll call you tomorrow then"
Keith was about to hang up.
"Please don't hang up" she said it so fast, like her life depended on it.
"Why are you being so nice to me after what I did to you?" Larissa was curious.
"Because I love you, I've never stopped loving you Larissa."
She didn't know what to say. "I'm sorry about what I did to you. I really don't deserve you Keith."
"Let's forget about the past. Sound good?"
She smiled. Keith was so sweet.
"Yes, totally" she felt more at ease now.
"Good girl" he was pleased to hear her say that.
They talked on the phone for hours. She blushed and giggled like a silly school girl. Keith had stolen her heart once again. And this time Ambrose didn't stand a chance. Not a chance in hell.
