later that day ~

Ambrose felt restless, what his father had said caught him off guard. He left the ward in which his dad was in. Still shocked at what he had requested. He didn't know what to do. He didn't believe in love, never even felt it before. He had sworn off marriage. And didn't wanna have children until he felt ' ready '.
Back then when he was in high school he only dated girls for prestige and fun. He was extremely careless when it came to other people's feelings. All the girls he had been with always ended up getting hurt by him one way or the other. Worst part was that he never felt sorry. Still didn't. He really hadn't changed much. The only good thing about him was that he was brutally honest. He didn't hold back.
He was getting ready to go home. So many thoughts in his mind. Completely distracted.
Larissa was tired, she had had a long day. Since no one needed her help anymore she decided to go home early. She hadn't been sleeping well and she needed to grab any opportunity she got to rest with both hands. She knew very well that if there was to be any emergency she needed to be fully awake and alert.
Ambrose was outside the gate and was about to get into his car when he saw her. Larissa. "Dr Andrews, Hi" he said. He felt so awkward. A feeling very foreign to him. ' why is he bothering me' she asked herself. Why couldn't he just leave her alone? "Can I help you Mr Garcia" she didn't smile at him. "No reason to be formal. Call me Ambrose. You never told me your name" he smiled briefly. "Unless you got something serious to discuss with me this conversation is over" she sounded extremely annoyed, she started walking away from him. For the first time in his life Ambrose felt rejected and the feeling stung. He was so not used to it cause it never happened to him. "Is this how you treat every guy who approaches you"
"Like I said, this conversation is over". She got into her car and drove away.
Ambrose didn't understand why it hurt to be ignored by Dr Andrews. He didn't know why she was pushing him away. Was she married? Did she have a boyfriend? Those were the only logical reasons he could think of to justify her standoffish behavior, ' surely there must be another guy ' he said to himself. He was a billionaire. He was handsome, extremely good looking. Every girl wanted him. But Dr Andrews couldn't stand him. Not one bit. Why? He wanted to know so so badly. He didn't understand why he cared so much. He didn't know her, yet he was already losing his mind thinking about her. ' what are you doing to me Dr Andrews?' He was so confused. Was he falling in love, or was his excessive lust getting the better off him.
