INSANITY
*
Tia POV
From Lydia:
Don't chicken out. TELL HIM.
Ps. I don't wanna have to bail you out of a love triangle.
I switched my phone to silent and threw it to the bottom of my bag, as we approached the back door to gym, Lucas pulled a set of Keys from his pocket and unlocked the door, stepping aside to allow me to enter first. I felt like a naughty teenager, stepping foot in Hunter's territory without him.
"I'll go easy on you don't worry," Lucas told me with a wink as he led the way through a narrow corridor until we reached a pair of double doors, with a push he got them open and flicked on the lights, we stood in a huge hall full of different kinds of equipment. Lucas led us to the other side of the hall and pulled out two rather large mats. I suppose they'd be to soften the blow if I fall.
I was actually shocked it looked like a real gym, it is a real gym, I don't know what the hell I was expecting but everything looked above board and legit. You would not believe this was a kind of base for one of Manchester's notorious gangs.
Funny thing was I wasn't scared though. I legit should be, last night I nearly hooked up with one of the gang members and here I am, alone with another preparing for a self defence lesson. You couldn't write my life.
I placed my bag to one side and threw off the hoodie I was wearing revealing my tight fitted gym top with matching leggings, this was a win win outfit, for one they're obviously comfortable and two they shaped your legs and ass which is always a bonus. I'd paired it with my favourite nikes, I looked like the part but let's be honest I was about as fit as a cucumber.
"So I thought we'd start with a little self defence." He told me as I stepped on the mats to stand in front of him. "Ok so I want you to punch me in the face."
"What?" I asked horrified. "I can't punch you in the face Lucas are you insane?"
"I'm going to block it." He said with a laugh, "chill." I wasn't so sure.
I hoped he was good at blocking punches I'd hate if he didn't and I actually punched him in the face. Nonetheless I made my hand into a fist and pulled it back before I took my aim on his face, his hands came up quickly and blocked the hit.
"See? Now I want you to try that." I nodded and followed his instructions. "Ok so I'll do it nice and slow so you can see it coming then block."
"I did it." I exclaimed. Lucas gave a little amused laugh. I finally found something I'm good at. Which will come in handy when one of Hunter's enemies makes a move.
"Ok now I'll speed it up." He pulled his fist back and hesitantly I raised my hands to block.
"Good." He stated. "Always remember to block, you don't want that pretty face of yours to get damaged."
"Ha-ha." I muttered sarcastically. I was starting to feel a little awkward since the minute he picked me up he'd been showering me with compliments, now I was seeing what Lydia always bangs on about, he really does like me, and at some point I've gotta try and let him down gently.
It was a constant reminder that when the opportunity arises, I would have to tell him the truth, no matter how many times we hang out we're still not gonna have that connection, I really couldn't force it, and it wasn't fair for me to string him along anymore, not when my heart is clearly with someone else.
