Tia's POV

A little over a week had passed since we'd thankfully gotten rid of Hunter's unwanted house guest.

Hunter was still in the doghouse.

Lydia had been giving me strict instructions on how to be stubborn and how to make him work for it, and work for it was exactly what he was doing, every single day he would send me funny little gifts with little messages attached to them, this morning it was a stuffed teddy bear that he'd had personalised so that if you squeezed its stomach it would tell you it was sorry in a cute childish voice, his voice.

It was cheesiest thing I'd ever seen but I love him, the bear that is.

Yesterday it was a framed photo of me and him wasted on the park hugging a bottle of tequila while we showed our pearly whites grinning at the camera, he'd wrote the words 'Tia Tequila' on the back which of course made me smile. Seriously it was getting cheesier by the day.

Candice had text me asking if I could come into work a little early today so she could speak to me, so when I arrived I made my way straight to the office where I knew she'd be, I also needed to speak to her I think my wages are wrong, seriously it was triple the amount I should be getting.

"Hey Mitch," I greeted as I walked past the bar where he was stood going over some paperwork.

"Hey Tia, any more gifts?" He laughed, id worked quite a lot this week, basically only signed myself up so that I could accidentally bump into Hunter on the odd occasion without Lydia telling me off to stick to the doghouse plan, the plan was crumbling every time I saw him.

"A teddy bear." He snorted, "hey it was a cute teddy bear."

"Boss has got it bad." He stated whilst cleaning away after himself.

"Oh shut up." I told him. "Candy in the office?" He smirked.

"Yep." He was grinning like a Cheshire cat did he know something I didn't? I eyed him skeptically as I continued on my way to the office, I knocked gently and waited till I heard the words come in.

"Why are you smirking at me like that?"

"Go and find out for yourself," ok now I was worried, I eyed him warily as I continued past him and into the office, the door was wide open.

"You wanted to speak to me?" I asked, smiling politely at Candice who was slouched in the desk chair rubbing her swollen belly, I don't think she can get any bigger, I swear that baby is gonna burst out of there at any second.

"Tia." She greeted, she pointed at the chair in front of her and told me to take a seat, I happily obliged the walk here was an absolute I was tired as hell. "I wanted to run something past you."

"Shoot." I told her.

She smiled. "So you know I'll be going off on maternity leave soon, and Hunter's trying to find a suitable replacement. Well he gave me a list of people who have applied to work here and he wants them to be interviewed." I nodded slowly and this was to do with me because? She continued,

"He wants you to interview them." She told me. "Tomorrow morning."

Me? Fucking me? Noticing my horrified face she tried to reassure me.

"You'll be fine, he says he trusts your first instinct and knows you'll make the best decision, plus I'm heavily pregnant I'm an emotional wreck someone's only gotta give me a sob story and I'll hire them straight away."
