Tia's POV

"Where's Hunter?" I asked as I stepped inside the kitchen and took a seat at the table opposite Lydia and Jarred, who was sporting an expensive pair of sunglasses.

"Please don't shout," Jarred placed his head in his hands, cringing at any kind of noise.

I wasn't aware I was shouting. Must have been a rough night, I smirked as I shoved a handful of grapes into my mouth. I wonder if his trusty sidekick is also feeling dreadful this morning, that'll serve them right.

"Please excuse my idiotic boyfriend, he's feeling a little fragile this morning, that's what he gets for strolling in at 2am after ignoring my calls and texts all night." Lydia shot him a dirty look.

If looks could kill, Jarred would be dead.

"Boys night got a little out of hand huh?" I asked knowingly, I already know the answer to that one. Hunter was in such a state when he got back last night, and rather emotional. Kept mumbling on about his favourite church, but I was so tired at this point I let him ramble on to himself while I snoozed.

I half expected Hunter to be wasting away in bed all day, but he was gone before I even woke up, which was strange. Hungover Hunter was never proactive, so must of been super important for him to be up at the crack of dawn.

"You could say that." He muttered, "he's probably just sorting things for tonight, you know lots to plan and all that." His voice held something I couldn't quite put my finger on, it was almost as if he was nervous, which was weird.

"So what are the plans for tonight? Anything we should know about?" I was a little excited, I love New Year's Eve it's my favourite time of the year, and I'll be damned if I let anyone ruin it.

"No!" He rushed out almost all to quickly, but he quickly calmed himself, what is wrong with him? He's definitely acting shifty. "No nothing to worry about." Somehow I don't believe him, did something happen last night? Had something gone wrong?

"So where is it happening?" Lydia questioned also looking at him rather strangely, "you've literally told me zero details, and it's tonight."

"Where's what happening?" He looked panicked. Seriously what is this hangover doing to him? He's acting so weirdly.

"The party obviously. What did you think I was talking about?" Lydia eyed him skeptically, I could see she was having the same internal debate, she was watching him very carefully.

"Oh yeah that.." he laughed scratching the back of his head, "yeah I'm not aloud to say."

"Why not?" We both asked in sync. It was kind of me that pushed for a party on New Year's Eve and now I can't even know where it was? Rude. Looks like the roofs not going ahead then.

"Stop asking me questions!" He groaned breaking eye contact with Lydia and focusing on the plate in front of him.

"Something strange is going on. I can't quite put my finger on it but I will figure it out Kingsley, mark my words! You've been weird since that guy came over earlier." She told him, I had to agree with her Jarred was looking very nervous and panicky whenever either of us spoke to him. I had no clue who the guy she was talking about was though. I'd ask her about that later, Jarred would probably shoot us if we asked any more questions.
