Chapter Eleven- I Had To

A sudden slam of a door and gasp of a maid .

By the time that had happened he was already in his room once more . His wife sleeping in their bed .

She heard their door slam and she shot up . "Ren" she said seeing his figure in the darkness .

He came into view , the city outside's light shining on him .

There was blood all over his shirt and a gun in his hand, he wore a dazed expression on his face .

"Kylo what did you do ?" She asked fearful when she ran out of bed to grab the gun out of his hand .

"I had to " he said coldly .

"Kylo what did you do?" She asked him again and she locked the pistol in the nightstand .

"If I didn't then -" he began to choke on his words .

"Kylo what did you do ?!" Rey asked , her eyes fearful and her body shaking .

"I killed him" he said . "Snoke ... I killed him"

"Kylo- why ?" Rey was shocked , Kylo loved Snoke as a father , why would he kill Snoke ?

"He would have done it otherwise" he said sitting down on the foot of the bed .

"Done what otherwise ?" She asked as she tore his blood stained shirt off of him and threw it in the fire.

"He would have killed you Rey" he said not meeting her eyes .

"What ?" She asked turning to face him.

"He ... he knows your bleeding , that you go your period , Maz must have been cleaning it and Hux saw ... Hux told Snoke as that was the orders too... Snoke was going to send me off on business and kill you in your sleep ... like he did with my other wives"

"Why is me having my period so important?" She asked .

"It means your not with child ... and that he will not have an heir , so I killed him"

"Kylo ... please don't -"

"If I didn't kill him you would be dead ! Just like Bianca and Lucida and Noanna ... he would have killed you like he killed them... " he said struggling to breath .

"You don't know that " Rey told him taking a seat besides him.

"My spies don't lie to me ... and he would have killed you ... he was going" he gulped "he was going to rape you ... then beat you ... then kill you with a knife ... Rey I couldn't ... I couldn't lose you to him ... no more wives will I loose to him ... I ended him"

"Kylo... you just killed the emperor that is treason ! What will become of you ? Of me ? Of us ?-"

"It's not a treason ... no one knows it's me .. expect you , and no one will know Rey , I left his gun on his chest... it looks like a suicide ..."

"Kylo ... you ... why did you have to kill him ?" She asked "you're a murderer -"

"I killed the man who was going to rape and beat them kill my wife ... I am no murdered ... I was preventing your death" he snapped .

"People will talk and people will think it was you... you're just married ... people will think things"

"Let them then" he said "Rey ... I'm now the emperor ... and I need you by my side" he guided her to the large window of their room.

"Those people there ... they need a good honest empress ... someone who has struggled like they have... don't you see Rey ? You can make it better ... you get to change it all... no more outrages taxes and stupid wars... that was all Snoke not me ... we will rule the people the way the ought to be ruled ... by a strong emperor and strong empress" he leaned his face into the crook of her neck . "Please don't make me do this alone" she felt tears fall.

"Oh Kylo" she said and threw her arms around him , rubbing his bare back with her hand softly .
