Chapter Twenty•Six - Say It

It was quite , like they had touched a nerve with one another . She ate her oatmeal with her spoon softly as he read a paper and drank his coffee .
They say on opposite sides of the table, far from one another .

Rey didn't know what she did ... mainly because it was always Ben's fault ... always !

"Ben ... are you okay?" She asked .

"No " he said coldly.

"What's wrong ?" Rey out her spoon down .

Ben took the cigarette that was in the ash tray and took a puff "I'm mad "

"I can see that... what's wrong ?"

"You think Rey that I can just live like this " he closed his paper . "That I can sleep next to you and eat with you and kiss you and hold you and love you and that you don't love me back"

"Ben I told you ... one day -"

"I don't want to wait anymore damn it ! I've loved you without getting anything back for a while !"

"You want me to say I love you when I'm not ready to say it ?" She asked .

"I want you to love me okay ? I'm your husband and I think that you should love me !"

"Ben ..." she got out of her chair and walked to him "I'm not ready to say it aloud yet ... and if you can't be happy with that then I'm sorry ... I know I do but I can't say it yet ..."

He scoffed and brought his paper back . Rey grabbed the paper from his hand . "Ben ... you know I do ... I just can say it-"

"I want you to say it Reyhanne..." he told her .

"Some day -"

"Some day isn't today is it ?" He then closed his paper grabbed his cigarette and blazer then walked out of the dinning room.

She had to admit ... it would piss her off too , but she knew just the way to make things all better .

She lit candles all around managed to find his favorite champagne and berries .

She closed the curtains in their room and threw on quite an outfit.

A red short see through slip , with red panties and a bra showing through ; her red heels and her lips painted red .

The door opened and Ben walked in , huffing from a long day of work . "Rey ... woah" he said .

She was sitting on their bed , a plate full of strawberries on the nightstand .

"Ben ... I wanna make this up to you" she said and he walked over to her .
"So ... tonight is your night ... whatever you want you get ... I'll do anything you want and you can do anything you want to me" she said .

"Oh Rey -"

"Come on ..." she smiled . "I have your favorite champagne...the one that you drank at the ball two weeks ago ... and strawberries... come here"

He sat down next to her and she began to undo his tie . "Could you pour me a glass of champagne love ?" He asked.

She nodded and bent over him to reach the glasses and poured the sparkling drink into them both .

"You're too young to be drinking ...only 19" he said taking his glass and dropping a strawberry in it.

"Well... I suppose that I can be pardoned by the emperor ... " she smiled.

"I don't know" he said taking a sip of his drink and leaning against the back of the headboard.

Rey put her drink of the nightstand and pulled his legs on the bed so she could take off his shoes and rub his poor aching feet.
