Chapter Twenty•One - Please Don't Leave

The door opened to their room and she saw him , already the taking off his suit jacket .

"I have some news" he said hanging the jacket lazily on the hook.

"Can't it wait ? I've been waiting all day for you " Rey said walking over to him and grabbing his tie to undo it as she sat him on the edge of the bed

"Rey it can't -" he said but he was cut off by her kissing his neck , her hands fumbling around his shirt and tie .

"Rey come on I need -" he then was cut off by her kissing him harshly and pulling his tie off him.

"Rey ..." he repeated "Reyhanne ! I'm serious !" He snapped .

She let go of him and took a step back "what's the big deal ? I was kissing you not shoving a glass of vodka down your throat !"

"I'm leaving" he said .

She looked at him "what do you mean you're leaving ?"

"I need to go to a conference in Paris ... I have a train to catch tonight" he sighed.

"So you're just gonna leave me ?" Rey asked.

"I have no choice -"

"You're the fricken emperor! Send someone else to do it ! Not you !" She snapped back.

"Rey ? The Russian House of Parliament is sending me and two other advisors to sign onto a treaty to keep from war breaking once again with us Eastern European countries"

"I can't come can I ?" She asked.

"No I'm sorry... " he said .

"So ... we've been married for about three weeks , you lied to me about my heritage and your lineage ... your family is here ... you killed my uncle , and stopped my wedding and now you're just leaving me ?!" Rey yelled .

"Darling I don't have a choice ! If I don't go we could be on the brink of war !" He said going to grab her waist .

"You're leaving me now ?!" She snapped again , she was so upset and heart by this news.

"I wouldn't if I didn't have to... if it was up to me I wouldn't ... I would send some adviser but it has to be my signature" his hands began to softly run and untangle her brown hair .

"But ... your leaving me ... for how how long?" She wondered .

"About 8 days" he told her.

"Eight days !" She asked her eyes growing wide and her jaw dropping .

"I'm sorry Rey... I really don't want to go ... I much rather be with you here ... in our bed and just letting not a care go by ... but when I come home we'll all be safe" he said twisting her hair softly with his large hands .

"But ... I'll be alone ... no one to wake up to wrapped in their arms ...no one to eat breakfast with...  not getting to watch you stir your coffee with a fork instead of a spoon... I won't be able to have anyone pull me down the hall and press me against the wall just to kiss me and say I look beautiful ... no one to play footise with while we're eating dinner ... no one tease me when they eat a strawberry sensually.... no one to sleep in ... the bed is always colder without you... even if we're not having sex ... Ben please don't go" she begged.

"Sweetheart" he hugged her "you know this isn't my choice ... I'll try and get home as soon as I can ... but I'm going to have to leave you " he kissed her forehead .

"Ben -" had tears began fall from her eyes.

"No ... Rey please don't cry you have to be strong for our people ... I'll be home in a week... and hopefully by then the snow will have melted and we can to go to Spring Palace" he said "it's beautiful with a large orchid and gardens with great white fountains ... you'll love it... it by this sweet river and you can see little girls and boys play around there ... you'll love it " he kissed her on the lips softly .

"I'm going to miss you" she sighed.

"I'll miss you terribly but I call the second I set in at my hotel ..." he kissed again and sighed.

"When's do you leave ?" Rey asked.

"35 minutes " he said looking at his watch.

"We have time" she said and began to undo his shirt .

Quickly they were naked and he went into his wife , trying to make this time last forever and ever .

She was breathing hard and he knew that she was close . After a moment she let out a loud moan and then he followed .

He slowly left her , wishing he could stay between her legs forever. "I need to get dressed and pack" he said .

"I'll help... you go get dressed and you freshen up"

"I'll be home in a week ... I'll call you every night sweetheart" he said and kissed the top of her forehead .

"Don't forget me " she whined .

"Never darling" he kissed her softly then walked out into the snow , their motorcar waiting .

Rey sighed as as she snuggled into the warm fur jacket he had left her to keep warm with .
