This past month has been hell. Seeing Justin and his girlfriend, Ashley together made my stomach turn. Yeah I know I promised I won't give up on what we have, but what am I suppose to do; wait until he gets his head on straight and notices me? Who said I will be waiting forever? It's my first year of high school and the last thing I want to do is to be tied down to someone that already has a girlfriend. I wasn't going to let him ruin that for me, especially on this particular day; my birthday.

I woke up extra early so I can look stunning. I applied liquid eye liner and mascara on my face. I fixed my hair to make it look natural, yet tamable. I was wearing a white dress with black geometrical shapes and lines. I wore the dress with my red chucks that I recently bought for this occasion. I looked myself in the mirror damn I'm hot, I thought to myself with a grin.

"You look gorgeous Delilah," my mother said with tears in her eyes.

"Thanks mom! I'm finally 15, so when do I get my car," I asked jokingly.

"When you're 50; now let's go!"

I looked at my mom shock written all over my face. I hope my mom was just kidding.

I grabbed my backpack and ran out the door. We arrived at my bus stop in no time. I was wondering what's Riley's gift for me. Is it candy? If it is then I would love her for the rest of my life. I'm not the type of person that wants big presents for their birthday; the small things count to me. Just saying 'Happy Birthday' to me makes my day regardless.

The bus arrived; I hopped out of my mom's car and board the bus. As soon as I was to sit down, everyone quickly screamed out "HAPPY BIRTHDAY!"

I was overwhelmed with the out burst.

"Awee! Thank you soo much," I said as I sat down.

"Okay here go. Happy Birthday Delilah, I love you sooo much," said Riley as she handed me a small box.

"Thank you. What's in the box," I asked curiously.

"Open it and find out."

I shook the box close to my ear hoping the sound of its movement will give me a hint on what it is.

"Just open it Delilah!"

I slowly opened the box and saw various types of my favorite chocolates. I screamed with delight. I hugged my best friend and munched away.

2nd period rolled around and I was nervous. I didn't know how Justin will react to my appearance. Will he be mad that I didn't tell him that my birthday is today? I sat down on the bleachers where Coach Casterly was located. She looked at me with disappointment because I didn't dress out today. I simply shrugged my shoulders, it's my birthday lady. She took the rest of the class that did dress out, outside so they can earn their fitness points. I saw Justin playing basketball with his friends. He looked absolutely irresistible with the way his sweat glistened his skin. He was mouth watering. I really hoped that Ashley appreciated every part of him.

I was knocked out of my trance when I saw Cameron across the Gym waving his hand commanding me to sit with him. I strut across the basketball court. I was pretty noticeable with the way my birthday balloon was hanging on my backpack; courtesy of Denise. I felt multiple sets of eyes watching me. I looked back and saw Justin staring at me with his mouth hanging loose, but he wasn't the only one. A boy that was playing basketball with him was looking at me with an intense gaze. He sized me up and down making goosebumps appear on my arms. Who is this guy?

I continued to walk over to Cameron. I sat down and asked him, "Who's the guy in the purple shirt?"

"The one playing basketball with Justin?"

"Yeah, him."

"Ooohh, that's Xavier Baldwin. you don't want to fuck with him," he said.

"Why is that," I asked curiously.

"Just look at him Delilah! He has 'don't fuck with me' written all over him," yelled Cameron.

"Do you know what grade he's in?"

"He's a senior. I'm telling you Delilah stay away from him; he's no good."

"What am I gonna do messing with a senior Cameron? C'mon now, you know me better than that," I yelled back at him.

"Okay okay. I'm sorry, just looking out for you that's all," he said apologetically.

The other coach present in the Gym blew his whistle signaling to the kids to head to the lockers rooms to change. I step down from the bleachers making my way to the patio until I was blocked from the least person I thought would do so; Xavier.

"So do you think for your birthday you gonna let me touch your ass?"
