(continuation of chapter 23)
I stood in front of the bathroom mirror, smoothing out my hair and dress when Vincent came in, standing behind me.

"Hey handsome" I said, a big smile on my face. "Hey baby" he answered. "You almost ready?" he asked. I nodded and said "I'm gonna wear flats down instead of heels so I just need to grab those and I'm ready."

I watched Vincent pull out a velvet box from behind his back, his gaze searing me from the mirror. "I have something for you, fiorella."

"Vincent..." he didn't let me finish. "I know I didn't have to but please know that I want to spoil you and give you things. My money means nothing if I don't have someone to give things to."

I loved the sweetness and honesty of his answer and not wanting to bruise his ego, I would gratefully accept it.

"Well, don't leave me hanging" I joked as he smirked at me. I could tell when he opened the box that it was jewelry of some kind and then he told me to lift up my hair.

"Please don't take this wrong" he started, placing the necklace around my neck. I couldn't figure out why he said that until I saw it.

It was a diamond encrusted V, hanging from a platinum chain. It was gorgeous and I would be lying if I said I didn't love it.

"Oh Vincent!" I exclaimed. "It's gorgeous!" He looked very pleased at my response as I looked at it through the mirror, running my finger across it.

Turning to face him, I looked up at him and asked him to kiss me. "I would love to" he murmured as he put both hands around my face and kissed me.

I slowly opened my eyes to find his smoldering ones taking in my face and looking at me very adoringly.

"Thank you" I whispered, taking his hand in mine and squeezing it. "Are you ready?" he asked. Nodding, I slipped on my flats, took his hand and we left the bedroom.

We made it about half way down, before I heard a female's voice shriek. I looked over at Vincent as he smirked, trying to figure out what his expression was all about.

And then I saw her. A younger version of his mother and himself so I knew it was his sister, Abrianna (A-Bree-anna). She was beautiful with the same black hair and clear skin, same eyes that twinkled with mischief.

"Vinny!" She was excited to see her brother as she wrapped her arms around him. It did my heart good to see how he interacted with his sister.

Nona always said you could tell the character of a man by the way he treated the women in his families. She was right.

"You must be Calli" she said grabbing me in a hug. I returned her mega watt smile and said "You must be Abrianna."

She nodded and asked me to call her Bri. "Bri, Vincent has told me a lot about you and I know we are going to get along famously" I said. She giggled and threaded her arm in mine and basically drug me to the kitchen.

Clarissa was in there already and had most of the meal done and so she asked Bri and I to set the table. We talked and laughed like high school girlfriends and I knew instantly we would be close.

Once the table was set, we helped bring the salad and bread to the table, while Clarissa brought in two bottles of red wine.
