(Continuation of chapter 40)
Dante Agassi was first and foremost in his mind as his vehicle glided smoothly along the street to his warehouse, the place where he was the boss and when you are summoned here, fear should be the only emotion running through your mind.
Luca had put in a call to Paulo Calabrio, the head of the Vegas family, because if there was a war coming he needed to know so they could prepare.
Franco, another of his trusted soldiers, had gone ahead to prepare some things and just texted him letting him know it was taken care of.
They were a few minutes out when he received a text from Calli. Allowing himself the luxury of a quick smile, he glanced at it.
Calli: I just couldn't resist telling the most handsome man in the world that I love him. Also, I have my dress for tomorrow night and your mom, Bri and I are going shopping for wedding dresses. Thank you for making me the happiest girl in the world. Ti amo. C
He needed so much to concentrate but her text was making it difficult but on the same hand he didn't want to ignore her, so he sent a short reply.
Vincenzo: Ti amo, baby. I will be home late, don't wait up but get plenty of sleep. You will need it.
Putting his phone away, he got his head in the game and focused on the treachery and massive betrayal at hand, his thoughts going to a smiling and very happy Calli, but only for a nano second before the hard exterior took back over.
He looked around the main room that was used as a conference area and took in the loyal faces that had been with him since he'd become head of the Siranni family.
Luca, his father worked for Alberto as his second, as had Antonio, Franco, Meo and Niccola. They were born into it as was he and that is why he trusted them with his life and that of his family.
The men all stood respectively, waiting for him to sit, and then he motioned them to sit as well, preparing himself to prepare them.
There was another man, one that Vincent's men had seen around, but he was only called in for 'specialty' work and now the men's interests were definitely piqued.
Standing and buttoning his suit jacket, Vincent addressed the group as he paced around the room.
"Gentlemen, you all have questions no doubt and I will answer them shortly but first, we are going to be joined by Viktor Trulluci. Viktor, thank you for dropping everything on such short notice."
Viktor gave a respectful nod and said "Boss." Then Vincent continued. "As you gentlemen know, there have been suspicions, for quiet some time now, that the Siranni Family Winery was being stolen from.
I am here to tell you that irrefutable proof has come to light that has confirmed these suspicions. As a way of protecting the source of the proof, all you need to know is that I trust this source with my life.
Dante Agassi is the instigator and now it has been made known that he has had help from another member of our organization.
When I was first presented with the name of the individual, it was hard to digest but here again, we have someone on the inside that has and still is gathering further proof. This traitor goes by the name of Antoine Mancini."
Vincent could hear the murmurings and see the expressions of disbelief when he uttered Calli's father's name. He completely understood because only hours earlier, he was faced with the same feelings of disbelief.
Holding up his hand for silence, he continued. "There will be a gathering at my home tomorrow evening, where I will be announcing my engagement to Calli Mancini.
She will not only be my wife but your queen and I expect you to give her the same respect and protection that you afford to me. She has no idea nor is she involved and that is all you need to know.
Now, gentlemen, we are swimming into dangerous waters here, taking on Agassi, because as you know there are some within our ranks that have placed a misguided trust in him.
What I need from you gentlemen is to get eyes and ears out there. Put only informants on the streets that are loyal to us and see what you can get from them. Promise them whatever you need to, to get the intel we need.
Viktor will be at your disposal for interrogations, so please make sure you get whatever he requires to get the job done but also remember, we do not want Dante getting wind of this because if he does, it's all over."
Vincent dismissed Antonio, Niccola, Meo and Franco while he had Domenico and Luca stay behind with Paulo, so they could discuss strategies, business issues and collections.
Third quarter earnings for the Bellagio were up 6%, the Russians were happy with the fleet of two Mercedes, one Bentley, two Teslas and four BMW's, so they would stay off his back for a while.
The distribution point in New Jersey had paid for, in full, their shipment of medical grade marijuana and the shipment of small caliber handguns that had been sold to the Irish had been paid for.
Club Nebula seemed to be raking in money, hand-over-fist, which was good considering that he was using those profits to give Calli her dream wedding. Antoine would not be given that privilege, Vincent would see to that.
Consulting his Rolex, he exhaled. It was nearly one thirty in the morning and he was ready to get home, crawl in bed with Calli and wrap his body around her. He needed her, badly.
"Luca take me home. I'm done for tonight." Luca nodded and left to go ready the car while Vincent spoke with Viktor.
"I am giving you Carte Blanche to do whatever it is that you need to do. I don't care what the last name is, if they have betrayed this family, they are betraying me and need to be dealt with accordingly." Viktor nodded, shook hands with Vincent before they left.
Leaning his head back against the plush leather seats, Vincent's thoughts went to how good Calli would smell and feel with her beautiful and lush body wrapped around his.
His erection was starting to rub uncomfortably against the fabric of his dress pants, so he let his hand fall to the bulge growing underneath his pants and slowly started rubbing.
Stopping before he went to far, he grabbed his phone and texted Calli telling her to be ready for him; he was going to take out his frustrations on her body and prayed that she could forgive him for it.
