Chapter 58

"Okay, where is she?" A sweet voice asked and then another voice sounding like Alberto's boomed "Si, I want to meet my new niece!"  Vincent squeezed my hand as we walked into the kitchen.

"Vincenzo!" Ines shrieked, grabbing him in a hug and then two kisses to his cheek and then it was Piero's turn.  "Nephew!" His voice boomed just like Alberto's.

Once Vincent had greeted his aunt and uncle, he pulled me up next to him and made the introductions to some more of his family.

"Aunt Ines, Uncle Piero, this is my fiancé, Calli.  Baby, Aunt Ines and Uncle Piero."  I stepped a little more forward only to be pulled into a hug with Ines first.

"Oh Vincenzo!  Lei e' bella! (She is beautiful)" Ines gushed.  I blushed as I said "Grazie, Aunt Ines."  And then it was Piero's turn.  "Tu parli Italiano? (You speak Italian)" Piero asked.

Nodding I say "Si, Uncle Piero, lo parlo Italiano (Yes, Uncle Piero, I speak Italian)."  A big smile spread across his face as he answered "Farete bene! (You'll do just fine)."  Then he pulled me into a crushing hug.

The men went with Alberto to his study and us ladies went to the kitchen to start working on food when Clarissa told Bri and I what she had planned.

"Well girls, I have put together a plate with different cheeses, meats, fruit and crackers.  I also have a bottle of white wine and three bottles of Prosecco chilling and I have set up the karaoke machine!"  Bri and I shrieked with excitement.

We had a good time getting the food prepared for our men, they were having sandwiches, some of the antipasto from mine and Vincent's lunch, fruit, chips and some more of the tiramisu that I'd made.

I watched Aunt Ines dip a fork into the creamy dessert and take a taste.  She slowly closed her eyes and said "Questo e' buono! (This is good)". Bri giggled and said "Calli made it for Vincent."

She smiled and told me that it was almost close to perfect and that made me smile until my face hurt. She hugged me and we continued working on the food.

Once everything was ready, we loaded up all the food and started our trek to Alberto's study, where they'd set up a poker table.

Alberto had promised Clarissa that they would leave the French doors open to help dissipate the cigar smoke, so when we walked in they'd already busted out the stogies and the liquor.

"Ah, gentlemen, look how lucky we are to have such beauties serving our food! Come here cara mia" alberto said to Clarissa and then kissed her so sweetly we all went ahhh.

I walked over to Vincent, leaned over the back of his chair and wrapped my arms around his neck. I kissed his ear and then whispered "Do you know how much I love you?"

He turned his head towards me, brought his hand up and into my hair and pulled me to his lips, kissing me in that true Vincent fashion.

"Get a room!" Bri cried as I snickered against Vincent's lips. "What are you girls up to tonight?" He asked. I told him we were eating, drinking and doing karaoke. "Have fun. Aunt Ines is crazy when she gets liquored up" he smirked.

We left the men, happy and eating and headed to the media room. Once we were in there, Clarissa opened up the Prosecco, poured four glasses and we toasted to mine and Vincent's wedding.

After we'd polished off that bottle and started on the wine, Bri said it was time to fire up the karaoke machine and informed me I would be going first. Since I was tipsy, I was emboldened with courage and took the challenge.

Trolling through the list of songs, I landed on Lady Gaga Venus and decided to do that.  The one and only time I'd ever used my parent's position was to get backstage passes and I got to meet the one and only Gaga and had been a huge fan ever since.

I pointed at Bri to start the music and with mic in hand, I started singing, with Clarissa videoing it.

Not to be conceited but I could actually sing and I had Clarissa, Bri and Aunt Ines dancing around and singing the chorus like we were at a concert.

I felt so surrounded by love and hadn't realized what I'd missing out on all this time and that was having a true family.

They all clapped and of course I bowed and then it was Bri's turn.  She picked Hips Don't Lie by Shakira and ft. Wyclef Jean and we got crazy after that.  It was game on!

Aunt Ines went next and she chose Believe by Cher and she did a pretty decent job and even swung her dark hair just like Cher.  Bri and I fell on the floor when she did her tongue like her as well.

Lastly Clarissa picked Party in The USA by Miley Cyrus and when she saw the look on my face she said, a little defensively, but with a smile "I might be old but I've not been living under a rock!"

We just kept up singing for hours and then Bri came up with her and I doing a duet and she chose Uptown Funk by Mark Ronson ft. Bruno Mars and we killed it!  Clarissa said she was going to use it at the wedding tomorrow and Bri and I almost died but we knew better than to argue with mama.

Before we knew it, it was two in the morning and the reality hit me that in twelve hours I was going to be a married woman!

Vincent had texted me and told me that he'd moved his clothes and other things that he would need for the wedding across the hall to Bri's room and she would be staying with me tonight.

I just smiled as I texted him back and all I said to him was I will see you at two o'clock sharp, Mr. Siranni.  Don't.be.late!  Ti amo, Vincenzo.

My phone pinged back immediately.  So bossy baby!  I love you too and just try keeping me away!
